day two
![]() There are no clocks in your dorm room to help you mark the passing of time, but at a certain point, in the early hours of the morning, a cheerful chime tune plays over the loudspeaker. Whether you're awake or asleep, the door to your dorm room is now unlocked. You'll have about a forty five minutes, in which you can get ready or grab some breakfast, before the door that allows you into the park unlocks. By this time, you may or may not have noticed that one of your number is missing. The chimes play again, to announce that the park is open, and the rides and music begin to come back to life as a voice plays over the loudspeaker. "Rise and shine! Let's have a lot of fun today, or at least all of you who are left!" You will have until 4 PM to explore the park and talk amongst yourselves. Somewhere in the park, you'll find the body of Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu. character statuses private conversations graveyard Voting will close at 10 PM EST on September 27. Though a special comment for discussion will go up shortly before voting, you are encouraged to discuss who to vote for throughout the day. |
Bulletin Board
Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu
You can look at the bracelet on the corpse - it flashes Kuzuryuu's name and dorm mascot, but shows nothing else. The body is lying in a pool of blood near the main entrance. There are two bullet wounds in the body's leg, but the actual cause of death appears to have been bludgeoning. The face of the corpse is partially collapsed, as though it was hit multiple times.
Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu is no longer among us.]
no subject
One specific body. That's not all that large, and still looks pretty distinctive even with the face in as poor condition as it is.
Anyone with good ears (or even not-so-good ears) will be able to hear an absolutely heart-rending scream as Peko scrambles to the body, grasping at his hand. There are tears streaming down her face, completely unchecked and probably unnoticed.]

Once he left his dorm, he immediately went to his sister Mabel's and got her out of bed, and the two left with getting breakfast in mind. Though, it wasn't hard to miss the crime scene just by wandering a little. He had a feeling it would've been too good to be true if someone didn't die this morning... and it unfortunately happened to be Hiko.
He silently reached back and took Mabel's hand, giving her a look of concern, knowing Hiko was one of Mabel's friends..]

[This is sad, of course. Any murder is. And while Royce's heart sinks to see that there has been another murder (and one of a person who seems to have had friends from back home, as well), he has to put all emotions aside and put logic forward. They need to get as many clues as they can.]
[He bends down slightly, eyeing the body with a quirk of an eyebrow, puffing away at his cigarette.]
I wonder...why the bullet wounds? And...in the leg? Why not just shoot him in the chest and get it over with...?

The scent of blood hangs heavier in the air than for Ishtar (or Togami's soaking into the floorboards, that inadequate carpet worthless Komaeda brought). Tears prick at her eyes before Koizumi even asks herself: Why would anybody ever do that, shoot and hit him, when there's not even a bracelet or explosive that explains the mechanic at play?]
This is impossible--!!
[She has to do her part. She places her hands on the camera but the viewfinder is so blurry for some reason; no, she took a shot of someone redhaired instead.]
Cra--crap--
[Her forearm scrubs roughly once against her face before her shutter clicks again, and again, each shot a little closer to actually capturing the carnage.]

PAPER DELIVERY
Season 129, 2nd of Nagatsuki
Bombshell Reveal of Identity and Body
Discovery of first game victim and mysterious detective shocks all!
Day one of the Dreamland game proper begins not only with the first clue from an anonymous detective accusing Mr. Legion of being VIP, but also with the unfortunate find of Mr. Malik Ishtar’s body. As I was not well-acquainted with the deceased, publication of his obituary will be delayed until friends or family or anyone who is willing to write one on his behalf does so. It is noted that Mr. Ishtar was a proponent of the hand-cutting brigade from yesterday afternoon, and, specifically, advocated volunteering Mr. Missile for experimentation. This goes to show that animal abuse will not take us far in this game: a consensus for both VIP and innocent guests, a message that I agree with wholeheartedly and without any personal stake in the matter at all.
Evening brought us our first voting and a bold revelation from the one non-abstainee among us, Mr. Levi.
As of nightfall, we have not received an answering statement from Mr. Legion, but I wish good luck to Mr. Detective and the accused and to us all in unraveling this conspiracy and discovering the truth.
- Aya Shameimaru.

Ah, Aya...I, ah, have a question. An important question. About Levi. [A pause, as he glances over the newspaper.] I...asked him the other day to go to you and verify the, er, symbol used on the letter. With you. What I mean is that...did he verify that he was the one who sent the letter? Or has he not met you yet?

And so, he's set himself up in front of the carnival game that he thinks will be the easiest for him: the test your strength game. Comically huge mallet in hand, he swings it down on the pivot board to try and ring the bell.

a query from your pink seamstress
Hey, we actually need a plan of action! If we keep dropping like flies, the VIPs are gonna win in no time at all. I mean, there's 40 of us left, so it'll still be hard to fish for culprits, but we can't afford to sit here twiddling our thumbs!
Okay, so...we have no crime scene evidence, no line of suspects, and a day of deliberation. Kuzuryuu died from bludgeoning, but there was a bullet wound in his leg. Sakaki got exploded, like that Malik guy, but his bracelet was a little different. Oh, and Sakaki's bracelet said he was a regular guest.
Who has some ideas, here?
no subject
On the bulletin board, it tells us how many VIPs and roles and regulars are alive, right? And they had--Kuzuryuu, they had his name there. That was when we could all learn at the same time he was dead and a... an innocent guest without a role or anything.
But for Sakaki, there was no loudspeaker or anything. We just heard the noise and followed that. So that's why the bracelet was programmed to tell us what his deal was.

some ambiguous amount of time after finding yuya
Yes, if you head towards the mess hall, you will see Oz and Ciel stumbling out of the smoky kitchen, and Ciel seems to be the one yelling. He's not in danger (in fact, they're both fine, so don't worry), and instead, this is just Ciel losing his temper and screeching indignantly at Oz... ]
Y, You said it couldn't be that hard! How did you catch it on fire?!
[ it was almost certainly ciel that actually caught the teabags on fire, but he's definitely blaming oz ]
Did you put it out? Is it out??
[ Believe it or not, they were trying to make tea. Don't leave two bitty noblemen to fend for themselves... Please send help for these two idiots. Oz will also be replying, so enjoy the moron brigade! ]

Immediately after Kurapika's interrogations
[Nobody really acknowledged her as leader, but someone needs to take action. Even if it's too late...]
We no longer have time to consider maybes and unknowns. We must determine our course of action through reason. To that end, I have three points to discuss.
First, Levi's claim as detective. Because nobody has come forward to dispute that claim, I'm afraid we must for now assume it to be true. If any of you are the detective aside from Levi, say so now, or at least one innocent person will soon die. Possibly more.
Second, the Buddy Cops - you should investigate Legion, if you haven't already. Whether Levi's claim is true or not, do not come forward unless you believe you can absolutely prove that you are who you claim you are by the end of the day. Otherwise, doing so will only split the attention of the medical team and raise further confusion at the trial.
Third, Yuya's death. This was clearly the work of someone with a detonator key, but that's where it becomes strange. If the killer was a VIP, then they would have killed Levi without hesitation. If Levi is a VIP, then it would be foolish for them to use any detonators while we believe he is the detective. If the killer was a Guest, then I see no reason for them to kill anyone. Unless anyone else has further insight, I can't conclude anything from this seemingly random action.
If anyone else has information - not more theories or suspicions, but clear evidence - that will save lives, now is the time to speak.
no subject
Ah, you're right. It's drawing late enough for us to start considering our options.
