dreamland day two 40 players remaining. There are no clocks in your dorm room to help you mark the passing of time, but at a certain point, in the early hours of the morning, a cheerful chime tune plays over the loudspeaker. Whether you're awake or asleep, the door to your dorm room is now unlocked. You'll have about a forty five minutes, in which you can get ready or grab some breakfast, before the door that allows you into the park unlocks. By this time, you may or may not have noticed that one of your number is missing. The chimes play again, to announce that the park is open, and the rides and music begin to come back to life as a voice plays over the loudspeaker. "Rise and shine! Let's have a lot of fun today, or at least all of you who are left!" You will have until 4 PM to explore the park and talk amongst yourselves. [ She was thinking more like they'd pick their friends but wow this poses an even worse scenario.. ]

Oh! But surely... they wouldn't protect a murderer. [ Though she doesn't sound terribly certain of that. ] Saving themselves at the cost of everyone else's lives... how horrible.

Their motivations might not be so simple. There is still the possibility that the VIPs are being forced to kill by some unknown motivation.

Alternately, consider this: Your partner is a VIP, but you are a Guest. You are prepared to sacrifice yourself to ensure the VIPs are defeated... but what if there is someone else here important to you? Someone who may have been converted?

[royalizing]

But if they were truly being forced, what need is there to be pointlessly cruel?

[ She clearly is referring to how mutilated Fuyuhiko's corpse was that morning. ]

... I... I'd find another way. [ ... That didn't sound convincing even to her. ] Then what are you saying? That the detonator is helping the VIPs?

It's all suspicions and speculations at this point, but yes. I believe that the detonator is in league with the VIPs, willingly or otherwise.

[royalizing]

But that means they could kill two people each day!

[ That's her kneejerk reaction, which is chilling. But then she slows down to think. ] But if that's the case, why did they not target Levi? The detonator could claim they gave the key to someone else.

Hmm... this is also true. Two different points that contradict one another...

[royalizing]

Unless... the detonator isn't working with the VIPs.

[shoutoku_administrator]

They killed a Guest. The Detonator has not come forward with the key-holder's identity. How do you reconcile these two facts?

[royalizing]

I'm not sure.

Perhaps you were right, and the Detonator did give the key to their partner, without realizing they were a VIP. And now they're afraid to come forward because they don't want to die if we vote to execute his or her partner.

[ That would be a really bad situation for them if that were the case... ]
