There are no clocks in your dorm room to help you mark the passing of time, but at a certain point, in the early hours of the morning, a cheerful chime tune plays over the loudspeaker. Whether you're awake or asleep, the door to your dorm room is now unlocked. You'll have about a forty five minutes, in which you can get ready or grab some breakfast, before the door that allows you into the park unlocks. By this time, you may or may not have noticed that one of your number is missing.

The chimes play again, to announce that the park is open, and the rides and music begin to come back to life as a voice plays over the loudspeaker.

"Rise and shine! Let's have a lot of fun today, or at least all of you who are left!"

You will have until 4 PM to explore the park and talk amongst yourselves. Somewhere in the park, you'll find the body of Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu.

He didn't have to fight back, just stay alive. [It was weird that he didn't fight back, though. It was really weird.]

If they have guns, they probably have other kinds of weapons, too. [He puts a hand to his chin]

I think even someone's fist could do something like that to his face if they hit him enough times.. but why would they even hit him so many times to collapse his face? I mean, you don't need to break someone's skull to kill them with a blunt weapon.

But he didn't run away either. He'd have less of a chance of living if he didn't run and didn't fight.

[Like. What the hell, Kuzuryuu? What the hell is this?]

Why hit him at all? They had a gun! I'm pretty sure shooting someone is probably easier than beating his face in.

If he didn't run and he didn't fight, then what did he do to make them shoot his leg? He obviously was doing something, otherwise they wouldn't have shot him! [What she brings up next is a really good point, though.]

...I don't know why they didn't just shoot him. Maybe the person with the gun was too scared to deal the final blow? Or they ran out of bullets?

Well...I don't know. Why would you shoot someone who wasn't running or fighting that you were trying to kill?

[It's probably not good for a pair of twelve year olds to be thinking in "if you were going to kill someone" terms...

Rubbing her forehead a little, Mabel sits down fully at this point, stretching her legs out and thinking.]

Think, think, think.......think, think, think..............If the person with the gun was too scared, why didn't the person who hit him shoot him instead? He obviously wasn't too scared...

But maybe they did run out of bullets...but why? If they didn't have enough bullets, why shoot him in the leg in the first place?

... [Why would you shoot someone who wasn't running or fighting....]

Maybe he said something to spark up anger? So they shot him in the leg instead of the head to make him suffer before he died? I mean, Hiko did swear a lot.. I don't think it'd be weird if he called them some names or something and it ticked them off. [He sits down fully as well and props his paper on his knees.]

Maybe they did it like this on purpose, to make it confusing and hard to figure out?

Yeah...if we had a swear jar, he'd definitely never have any quarters ever.

[Somehow that still feels a little wrong to her. It's obvious she's not fully convinced.

...it also obviously makes her a little sad talking like that about him.]

Well they don't want anyone to figure out who they are, so that's a good possibility!

[Okay, since Dipper is making notes, she'll start just sort of lazily browsing the profiles on her bracelet. Maybe something will give her an idea or a clue.]

[Yeah okay he'll drop the subject of why he was shot in the leg, since it's obviously making Mabel a little sad.]

Well we're going to figure it out despite their attempt at hiding it! [He stands up and stretches a little before moving to the other side of the body and sitting next to Mabel, to get a better look at the facial injury.]

..you know, it kind of looks like he was hit more than one time. I was thinking he was hit by someone strong since it's bashed in like that, but wouldn't it only take maybe two times at the most if it was someone big and strong?

Well yeah! If they were strong they could just go KAPOW!! And I'm pretty sure that would be the end of that!

[Now that he mentions it...she doesn't touch the wound, wanting to respect Peko's wishes, but she does lean in to look at it a little more.]

So that means the person with the blunt weapon had to have been someone weak or at least average? [He takes a piece of paper from the back of the pile and places it in front.]

Unless they were given a pretty useless weapon like, I don't know, a plank of wood or something. [Getting hit in the face with a plank of wood repeatedly... ouch]

What about a book? Or a pot? What if the weapon was something like a brick or even a rock? Maybe it was a shovel!

A book? [He immediately thinks about his journal, and shakes his head at the thought. That would be eerily creepy if he was murdered by a book..]

It could've been their own hand, too.

You think so? [Carefully, she lines her little fist up close to the wound, squinting at it to compare...]

I don't know. Wouldn't that hurt though?

Yeah, it would. [He forgot about that]

I guess it wouldn't be a good idea to punch him to death, since they'd probably have bandages on their fist right now and it'd give them away.

Yeah. I'd be preeettyyyyyy suspiiicciiiouuuuussss of anyone with a bandaged hand. I'm going back to the shovel idea. Yup. They used a shovel. Or...hmm...

[What could have been the weapon?]

What if they had some sort of hammer? Or a golf club? Those could do some damage!

[He looks at the wound again, and shakes his head.]

Nah I don't think it was something like a hammer or golf club, unless it was like, a sledge hammer. I mean, if they could have guns why would they use a smaller weapon? It'd make more sense if it were something big and easy to kill with. [Actually, a sledge hammer sounds pretty plausible.]

Well...what about a sledge hammer then? But then they'd have to be pretty strong to use one of those, right?

Yeah... [Staring at that wound while he thinks. If it was something like a sledge hammer, it would have to be someone who could hold it. Those aren't light things, so it'd definitely have to be someone stronger.

But he was hit multiple times.. if someone strong used a weapon, it would only take one strong swing to get Kuzuryuu's head smashed like that, especially because Kuzuryuu was small. But the wound itself looks like it had to have been something heavy... so why would someone strong need to hit multiple times to kill him?

Unless..]

Wait, Mabel! What if.. what if it was someone strong who used the blunt weapon? And the reason why they hit multiple times was because they had a hard time getting a hit actually on him?

But...he wasn't running away. How would they have a hard time hitting him?

[Hold on Dipper, she's not following.]

He could've been dodging it, moving around so they couldn't hit him and so the guy with the gun shot his leg to stop him from doing that!

[Now it clicks and she just kind of sits up straight.]

That makes more sense! Well I mean, I still don't get why they didn't just shoot him dead but shooting him in the leg to keep him from moving around a lot...that makes a lot more sense. For the leg wounds, at least.

And if it's a sledgehammer, that'd be kind of easy to dodge wouldn't it? Especially since he's short and kind of skinny! That's less to hit!

Exactly! [YEAH MYSTERY TWINS FIGURING SHIT OUT]

Maybe the person with the gun wasn't allowed to kill him, for some reason? They could have rules about it or something, which would explain why he didn't get shot to death.

[MYSTERY TWINS HECK YEAH.]

Maybe! And we're in this stupid game so I don't doubt they'd have a dumb rule like that!

[He nods.]

So if that were the case, I think we can start thinking of suspects. At least for the person who used the hammer! [As his mind goes a mile a minute, so does the marker he's writing with.]

Mabel, look through the profiles and give me names of people who look like they can handle swinging around a sledge-hammer!

Yes sir, Dipper sir!

[Alright, alright. Strong people.]

Alright, so! I think K and Royce might be able to wield a sledge-hammer! That Gundam guy might be able to? Mori probably could...maybe Starfire? I think she's an alien...

[Mabel pauses, tapping her chin.]

Can alien's wield sledge-hammers better than humans can?

[He writes down those names and shrugs]
