day two

dreamland day two 40 players remaining. There are no clocks in your dorm room to help you mark the passing of time, but at a certain point, in the early hours of the morning, a cheerful chime tune plays over the loudspeaker. Whether you're awake or asleep, the door to your dorm room is now unlocked. You'll have about a forty five minutes, in which you can get ready or grab some breakfast, before the door that allows you into the park unlocks. By this time, you may or may not have noticed that one of your number is missing. The chimes play again, to announce that the park is open, and the rides and music begin to come back to life as a voice plays over the loudspeaker. "Rise and shine! Let's have a lot of fun today, or at least all of you who are left!" You will have until 4 PM to explore the park and talk amongst yourselves. Maybe the person with the gun wasn't allowed to kill him, for some reason? They could have rules about it or something, which would explain why he didn't get shot to death.

Maybe! And we're in this stupid game so I don't doubt they'd have a dumb rule like that!

[He nods.]

So if that were the case, I think we can start thinking of suspects. At least for the person who used the hammer! [As his mind goes a mile a minute, so does the marker he's writing with.]

Mabel, look through the profiles and give me names of people who look like they can handle swinging around a sledge-hammer!

Yes sir, Dipper sir!

[Alright, alright. Strong people.]

Alright, so! I think K and Royce might be able to wield a sledge-hammer! That Gundam guy might be able to? Mori probably could...maybe Starfire? I think she's an alien...

[Mabel pauses, tapping her chin.]

Can alien's wield sledge-hammers better than humans can?

[He writes down those names and shrugs]

I dunno, I guess it depends on where they're from?

Hmm. Maybe not then. I don't know too much about that.

[Who else, who else...]

Sigma looks like he's strong! And...Legion definitely could. [She doesn't want to mention him, but she knows it's only fair to everyone.] Clash might be able to, she seems pretty strong too! And it says that Kurapika is strong in his profile...umm...I think that's it!

Sigma.. Legion... [Writing the names down.]

Okay, then we have eight possibly nine suspects. [Looking the list over a few times.]

I'm not sure if we should go around asking them questions, though. I mean, we don't want the VIPs to know we're on their trail until we are absolutely sure who did it, right?

[ineptus]

Yeah, that's probably best...though I bet Legion wouldn't mind answering questions! I don't know about anyone else...

[She and Clash are close, but she doesn't want to upset her. Well, she doesn't want to upset anyone really...]

So what should we do? And what about the other guy?

[terci]

Let's try thinking of this more thoroughly. Like, what kind of person out of the list do you think would use a sledge-hammer as a weapon? Assuming they were allowed to pick instead of being given a random one. [As for the other guy... he's trying to think of other angles about it, but it's hard when you don't have anything to go off of besides two bullet wounds.]

[Flipping back through the list.]

Well...Clash seems like she might. If she didn't pick something cool like a guitar or her symbols! And...

[Squints at the profiles this is hard when you don't know a lot about a lot of your suspects...]

...mmmmaybe Mori? Or maybe Sigma...I don't know. Some of these profiles say they use swords and stuff...

Okay, then I'll mark those three. [Putting lil stars next to their names]


..hey, wait. Do any profiles say anything about being good with guns? [He's just going out on a limb here but..]

[ineptus]

Ummm.... [Flipping through the profiles, flipping through the profiles...]

Legion is the only one. And it says he likes sniper rifles most?

[And then she pauses for a moment, reading over something else.]

Dipper, a mace is a blunt weapon, right?

[terci]

[Quietly makes a mark next to Legions name]

Oh yeah, definitely.

[ineptus]

You should add Sheba too then. It says she's skilled with staves and maces.

[He nods]

Okay, adding Sheba to the list. [Adding, adding]

[ineptus]

I think that's really it this time. [Crossing her arms and legs, she looks over Kuzuryuu's body again.]

...we'll definitely figure out who did this, Hiko. It's not going to be like last trial!

[terci]

[Dipper smiles, a little sadly, and nods in agreement.]

We should probably think about the guy with the gun, then. [Getting another piece of paper ready.]

This is going to be hard.. I mean, almost anyone could use a gun!

[ineptus]

Missile couldn't! [Mabel grins as if that one tiny piece of information will help them narrow it down further than 37 suspects.]

[terci]

Of course the dog couldn't! [Yes thank you Mabel it definitely helps.]

[ineptus]

[Aren't you glad she's on your team.]

Okay, okay. But I think we should start this list by figuring out who probably couldn't use a gun as well as others could instead.

[terci]

Yeah, that's a good idea! I think it was probably someone with at least a little experience with guns...

[ineptus]

Yeah! ...oh but wait, none of these list if they've had a little experience...like I don't think Ibuki would know how to use a gun, but what if she has fired one before? Even if only on accident?

[terci]

That's true.. [HMMM..]

Then I guess you'll have to make some guesses?

[ineptus]

Alright. [Pursing her lips, she starts flipping through the profiles again.]

Okay, so I still don't think Ibuki is likely. Patchouli probably not, because it says she's all about magic and stuff and magic people usually use magic, right? Tamaki definitely not. I don't think Amazing Anise is possible either...she's a puppeteer! Ummm...Maya and Simon don't have much written about them at all. So maybe not them either?

Okay, that's a good start. [doot doot writing their names down under a list of "not-gun suspects"]

Ugh, if only there were more clues! How are we supposed to catch someone using a gun if we only have the wounds to go off of?
