day two
![]() There are no clocks in your dorm room to help you mark the passing of time, but at a certain point, in the early hours of the morning, a cheerful chime tune plays over the loudspeaker. Whether you're awake or asleep, the door to your dorm room is now unlocked. You'll have about a forty five minutes, in which you can get ready or grab some breakfast, before the door that allows you into the park unlocks. By this time, you may or may not have noticed that one of your number is missing. The chimes play again, to announce that the park is open, and the rides and music begin to come back to life as a voice plays over the loudspeaker. "Rise and shine! Let's have a lot of fun today, or at least all of you who are left!" You will have until 4 PM to explore the park and talk amongst yourselves. Somewhere in the park, you'll find the body of Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu. character statuses private conversations graveyard Voting will close at 10 PM EST on September 27. Though a special comment for discussion will go up shortly before voting, you are encouraged to discuss who to vote for throughout the day. |

One specific body. That's not all that large, and still looks pretty distinctive even with the face in as poor condition as it is.
Anyone with good ears (or even not-so-good ears) will be able to hear an absolutely heart-rending scream as Peko scrambles to the body, grasping at his hand. There are tears streaming down her face, completely unchecked and probably unnoticed.]

Oh. Oh oh oh oh oh. ]

[ Oh, right, she's the least useful classmate for this. WHOOPS. Dangan wipeout: 3 and counting. ]

How dare...! How...a thousand times the lives will...
[Whatever he was going to say is stifled, though, since he can't really think of anything to say about it. Of all of them to die, for it to be this one person who was supposed to survive.
And then there's Pekoyama. It doesn't exactly occur to him that he's the only one who knows, but it does occur to him that he wants to help somehow? Helping somehow, that's what the friends who have come to have meaning for him would do in these circumstances. He just has no idea how to do something like that, so he just sort of stands there, waiting for her to do something.]

There is snot running all down her face, too. It's pretty brutal.]

[Not again...Anna doesn't think she's going to be able to take seeing another body, but...this one was killed in a more brutal way, if that's even possible. That face...
She liked Kuzuryuu too...but judging from Peko's expression, she was clearly close to him...]
I-I'm so sorry...
no subject
I should have done something...!
[Peko there was nothing you could do and you know it. But at least having a voice directed at her helps break her out of her personal cryfest, a little.
She's still not letting go of his hand, though.]

Were you guys close? I'm sorry. [It's pretty obvious she's broken up by it, but Belgium doesn't want to make assumptions.]

[She hiccups, almost, pressing her free hand against her lips as she tries to hold back tears. She is really trying, here. She's still not letting go of Kuzuryuu's hand, not for anything. Not just yet.]
Something... something like childhood friends...
no subject
At least, until he hears the scream.
He doesn't really think about it, more alarmed that someone might be getting hurt than the logic that even if they were, what would he do? It was a bit of his nobleman's pride, probably. Though as soon as he runs outside, he sees the body rather quickly, as well as Peko wailing over it. That was the older boy that had comforted him yesterday when he'd gotten angry and upset. His name was nigh-unpronounceable to Ciel, but all the same, his heart sinks in his chest, and he stands rooted to the spot. ]
No, but... They didn't say—
[ He looks at Kuzuryuu and feels queasy, so he brings a hand to his mouth as he looks away. That's... a lot of blood. He takes a half step forward, thinking about comforting Peko or at least trying to lead her away, but he realizes that it's probably not his place to do so. Still, he speaks up softly, trying to look anywhere but all the blood around. ]
Why would someone do this...
no subject
She can recognize grief, and Peko is clearly grieving. Her gaze wavers between the distraught girl and the mangled body, and she looks uncertain what she should do or say.]
I'm - I'm sorry... [She looks like she wants to say more, but bites it down.]

Her hand is still clutching at one of Kuzuryuu's as she manages a nod. Her other hand is wiping furiously at her tears, trying to stem the flow and maybe not be such a god damn embarrassment.
But she can't. Not when it's Kuzuryuu lying here like this.]
I can't...

Missile kind of cautiously trots up to her, ready to flee if she turns out to be the kind of person who gets sad and angry instead of just sad. ]

It's just so hard without him.
She doesn't even acknowledge Missile beyond a quick glance before she's wiping at her eyes again.]

Pekoyama...
[He freezes a short distance away. What can he even do or say?]
no subject
She's still clutching one of Kuzuryuu's hands in hers, though she does half-turn at the sound of her name.
That's... that's her prompt for you to say anything else, Yuya, if you want...]

[Peko's trying to keep a hold of herself, she really is. She's wiping at her eyes with the sleeve of one hand, the other still clutching one of Kuzuryuu's. She's not crying as intensely as before, but she's starting to shake.
She does turn her head to acknowledge who's speaking, though. If you've got anything, Anise, this is the time.]
no subject
I'm so sorry... Peko.
[She didn't think of them as friends... Perhaps not. This person, she clearly thought of as something even more.]
Is there anything we can do?
no subject
[Her voice is quiet, one hand still holding one of Kuzuryuu's lifeless ones. If it feels warm, it's just because of her own grip by now. But maybe if she sits here long enough, he'll wake back up.
He won't. Not with that kind of head trauma.
At least she's not openly sobbing, though there are still silent tears falling down her cheeks.]
Help me find who did this.

It's fine.
[It's not fine. Not even a little.]
Help me find who did this.

If you're going to bury him, there are people who can help.
