![]() There are no clocks in your dorm room to help you mark the passing of time, but at a certain point, in the early hours of the morning, a cheerful chime tune plays over the loudspeaker. Whether you're awake or asleep, the door to your dorm room is now unlocked. You'll have about a forty five minutes, in which you can get ready or grab some breakfast, before the door that allows you into the park unlocks. By this time, you may or may not have noticed that one of your number is missing. The chimes play again, to announce that the park is open, and the rides and music begin to come back to life as a voice plays over the loudspeaker. "Looks like it's time to get started after all! To all our guests, have a magical morning! Dream big and have fun, but don't forget to look for the body! We'll see you in the afternoon at the Hall of Mirrors when it's time to vote, okay?" You will have until 4 PM to explore the park and talk amongst yourselves. Somewhere in the park, you'll find the body of Malik Ishtar. character statuses private conversations graveyard Voting will close at 10 PM EST on Sept 24. Though a special comment for discussion will go up shortly before voting, you are encouraged to discuss who to vote for throughout the day. |
mess hall later in the day
[ Clash climbs up on top of the table and bangs her wrist cymbals together. After her proper introduction, she puts her hands on her hips. ]
Anyone who spoke to Malik in the past day should tell someone who hasn't! It may or may not be a way of narrowing things down, but we don't know until we try it.
Whoever would like to offer should speak to us individually to see who might be the most suspicious. I'd obviously offer myself, but I spoke to him too and there's no way I wanna be a suspect.

[ and now she never...will...........
don't pick her to see who's most suspicious, she'd suck at it ]
no subject
Well I'd say you should conduct the interviews, but someone— [ She rolls her eyes. ] —might consider that suspicious too.

If you want to...well, tell me what he said to you, if you talked to him, I can listen.

[ She steps off the table, her feet making noise as she does so. ]
Where do you wanna talk then?

Pardon me, but how would that narrow it down, exactly?
[ ALSO he did speak to him but only for like two sentences, so... ]
no subject
So the first step is to look to who talked to him and try to narrow it down from there. He wasn't exactly the most pleasant guy, maybe someone had it out for him already and used that key to their advantage.

Not like, really awful jerk! Just sort of. He wanted to cut off the dog's paw, that was really mean. I'm sure he was really nice deep down!

You should tell Royce about the conversation you guys had. He's the one taking statements. Just make sure you do it in a private place where no one can hear you.

What do you suggest we do then?

You should tell that guy what he said. [ She sticks her thumb over toward Royce. ] He's the one who's handling that stuff.

math
We would like to submit statistics for consideration. These are not fully reflective statistics. We wished to deliver something understandable to those without onboard processors. [ and because tbh I used this to study for my prob&stats exam so this would turn into me explaining 4 pages of notes and you don't want that... ]
Malik Ishtar was the only one to die. He must have been one of the unpaired individuals. This means there are now only 13 individuals. In the simple choose-one strategy of picking out of 41, if someone was chosen to be executed, it would be 82.927% likely that they would be innocent. It is also 68.293% likely that a paired individual would be killed. It is 56.633% likely to kill a person who is both innocent and paired with another person.
We submit this for your consideration. Our calculations suggest that execution may not be viable at this time without further information. The likelihood of executing an innocent is high.
