![]() There are no clocks in your dorm room to help you mark the passing of time, but at a certain point, in the early hours of the morning, a cheerful chime tune plays over the loudspeaker. Whether you're awake or asleep, the door to your dorm room is now unlocked. You'll have about a forty five minutes, in which you can get ready or grab some breakfast, before the door that allows you into the park unlocks. By this time, you may or may not have noticed that one of your number is missing. The chimes play again, to announce that the park is open, and the rides and music begin to come back to life as a voice plays over the loudspeaker. "Looks like it's time to get started after all! To all our guests, have a magical morning! Dream big and have fun, but don't forget to look for the body! We'll see you in the afternoon at the Hall of Mirrors when it's time to vote, okay?" You will have until 4 PM to explore the park and talk amongst yourselves. Somewhere in the park, you'll find the body of Malik Ishtar. character statuses private conversations graveyard Voting will close at 10 PM EST on Sept 24. Though a special comment for discussion will go up shortly before voting, you are encouraged to discuss who to vote for throughout the day. |

[ ignore the pronoun usage, basically ]
Handwriting analysis is fault. It is easy to forge. However, we can analyze samples if produced.

The other thing is... why did they pick you, out of all people? Do you remember who you talked to yesterday?

[Darn it. Sniped by the robot.]
OK, well. That's an impressive memory you have. Did any of these experiences go sour? Does BFF mean Beginning to Fear as Foe?

[ Legion doesn't know what to say to being adopted by Mabel, though, so it skips that topic. ]
It does not. It means "Best Friend Forever." We are "B-F-F"s with Ibuki.

[Something is beginning to be made clear.]
Do you just accept whatever anyone wants you to call them?
no subject
[ It cants its head slightly ]
We use titles when accurate.

[OK now he's kind of cute.]
I mean. Ahem. That's... er. Admirable.
But what you're saying is, you specifically tried to seek out friendship all of yesterday. Right?

[ unless legion's with shepard, then they shoot a lot of people in the face, but, well ]

A ploy by the VIPs? But getting rid of you... what would that accomplish?

[ a pause ]
We do not know the purpose of the note. But if it is a gamble, then destroying us as a part of their purpose may not carry as much guilt.

Are you saying you're... some sort of living machine?
no subject
[ He's at least ready to patiently explain... ]

[She has to take a second to process this.]
I'm not sure I really understand. I mean, you're alive, right? You just have scrap metal on the outside of a hunk of meat?
no subject
[ not... that Legion can actually prove it, but ]

[The expression on her face seems to indicate she kind of wants to look inside of Legion now.]
But still! You're obviously alive if you can have an intelligent conversation. [The Turing test doesn't exist yet.] You obviously have emotion if you want to have friends. How is killing you not equal, somehow?

...Most of it's not even smart.
OK, well. If that's the theory, it narrows it down, too. I'm sure I'm not the only person who's never heard of something like you.
no subject
[ Legion pauses as if considering something ]
We do not believe it narrows it down much.

No, I mean... living machines. The first thing I thought when I saw you was that you were wearing a suit. And I definitely wasn't thinking about where you ranked on the scale of how much it counted to kill you.

So if your theory is right, the person that wrote this note must have known you were a machine - one of the people you talked to or... someone nearby who overheard you.
...OK, it doesn't narrow it down too much, but a little is still progress.
