dreamland day one 41 players remaining. There are no clocks in your dorm room to help you mark the passing of time, but at a certain point, in the early hours of the morning, a cheerful chime tune plays over the loudspeaker. Whether you're awake or asleep, the door to your dorm room is now unlocked. You'll have about a forty five minutes, in which you can get ready or grab some breakfast, before the door that allows you into the park unlocks. By this time, you may or may not have noticed that one of your number is missing. The chimes play again, to announce that the park is open, and the rides and music begin to come back to life as a voice plays over the loudspeaker. "Looks like it's time to get started after all! To all our guests, have a magical morning! Dream big and have fun, but don't forget to look for the body! We'll see you in the afternoon at the Hall of Mirrors when it's time to vote, okay?" You will have until 4 PM to explore the park and talk amongst yourselves. [ That makes him frown, since it's a bit hard to imagine someone doing something that cruel right away, especially since he hadn't exactly talked to Malik much. But he nods slowly. ]

Sorry... I didn't think of that at all. I guess that does make sense. I talked to him, but only briefly. It was only a few words, really.

[ That just makes her preen inwardly even more because her smarts have put her at an advantage again! She's totally cool with hearing stuff like that. ]

Me too, but still. Even in a few words he could have really aggravated someone and that made him their target. Anything we can get might be of help if we're gonna figure this out.

We only spoke objecting to the idea of having a leader, and that was it...

[ He frowns, shaking his head ]

I didn't speak to him much at all, so I don't know. Would someone really kill over something that small? It seems ridiculous, honestly.

[fanbase]

Hey, you never know, right? Some people are just pretty wild and Malik didn't exactly have the best personality. Sometimes one conversation just might be enough if he really made the person angry.

[cheats]

[ man they only spoke for like a minute, but Ciel didn't think he was that bad... ]

Er, what was he like, then?

Really angry, told me that my whole outfit was lame. Like he had room to talk.

...Well, that's rude.

[ Though his tone is really like "would someone really murder for that??" oh ye of little faith ciel ]

He's definitely not the kinda guy you wanna run into on the street. That's why I think this isn't the work of the VIPs.

[cheats]

[ He shakes his head, looking like he has a headache coming on by his scowl ]

I'll take your word for it, since I didn't speak with him. But either way, that does make things more complicated either way, doesn't it? It's easier to imagine a group of VIPs working against us, but if there's another person doing the same thing, it's different.

[fanbase]

That's why we should try to figure out who might have detonated it. That way we can talk to them before we have to vote to see if they really are against us or if they're just working on their own. We shouldn't be looking to execute them if we can get an explanation.

Isn't that dangerous for them, though? It seems like if any of the other roles out themselves, they would get targeted next.

[fanbase]

We're not looking for who the Detonator is, just the person they gave the key to. Even then, they might not even know who the Detonator is depending on how it all went down.

[ His eyes light up in realization, since he gets the point Clash was trying to get to, possibly just because I was super slow, sweats ]

Ah, I see. That... would be possible.

[ Though the question he keeps coming back to is— ] I certainly hope that isn't the case, though. I would hope no one would be petty enough to kill him over an argument. Even if he was rude, that's more than a bit extreme.

Yeah, but still... he could have messed with the wrong person who already might have been a killer before this, or who always had those kinda tendencies.

You know like those super lame office jobs where one day some guy just snaps and ends up killing someone because they ask him some really simple question? It's probably like that.

[ unsurprisingly, Ciel looks extremely put off by this ]

...No. I have never heard of such a thing.

[fanbase]

[ This guy has gotta be from some weird European country that doesn't have movies too. ]

It's a thing that happens. Maybe it happened here too.

Good heavens, if that's the case, then I am more worried to be amongst such unstable people.

[fanbase]

That's what the runners of this thing probably planned. A majority of us might be stable, but they picked the VIPs for a reason... and probably some other people too. They knew that it would take the right kind of people to really kick this whole thing off.

[cheats]

Probably so...

[ He hums thoughtfully to himself as he brings a hand back to his chin ]

Ugh, how uncomfortable. If we're dealing with maniacs beyond the VIPs, then this will turn into a free for all, it seems.

[fanbase]

That's why we gotta strike while the iron's hot! If we knock out all other possibilities, then it's just gonna lead us to the one that's right.

[ He frowns a little more, but he seems to accept what she says ]

...I'm not sure if I completely agree with that idea, but it's one to keep in mind. I'd rather not have innocent blood on my hands.
