dreamland day one

41 players remaining.

There are no clocks in your dorm room to help you mark the passing of time, but at a certain point, in the early hours of the morning, a cheerful chime tune plays over the loudspeaker. Whether you're awake or asleep, the door to your dorm room is now unlocked. You'll have about a forty five minutes, in which you can get ready or grab some breakfast, before the door that allows you into the park unlocks. By this time, you may or may not have noticed that one of your number is missing.

The chimes play again, to announce that the park is open, and the rides and music begin to come back to life as a voice plays over the loudspeaker.

"Looks like it's time to get started after all! To all our guests, have a magical morning! Dream big and have fun, but don't forget to look for the body! We'll see you in the afternoon at the Hall of Mirrors when it's time to vote, okay?"

You will have until 4 PM to explore the park and talk amongst yourselves. Somewhere in the park, you'll find the body of Malik Ishtar.

If it's really the detective, then we shouldn't put them in danger... But if it's just someone messing around, or even a VIP trying to blame Legion...

I don't believe there's any chance it's the true detective.

The people with those roles have the most responsibility of us all... It's foolhardy to the extreme that they should lay out an accusation in such terms and expect us to blindly trust in their words.

It's still unclear if they can even identify a VIP directly.

Right, right... They can find "alignments", right? That's not exactly proof of killing...

Exactly.

The true detective would explain how their role proceeds and why they are certain of their condemnation beyond a shadow of a doubt so as to give us faith in their integrity. That would be the only reasonable way.

This person... To vote for this 'Legion' because of something like this - I can't accept it.

[Yeah, Anise really doesn't think it was the real detective]

It does seem really shady... like something a real VIP might do.

Right. And if it's some prank, at least we'll find out who's entirely untrustworthy.
