dreamland day one 41 players remaining. There are no clocks in your dorm room to help you mark the passing of time, but at a certain point, in the early hours of the morning, a cheerful chime tune plays over the loudspeaker. Whether you're awake or asleep, the door to your dorm room is now unlocked. You'll have about a forty five minutes, in which you can get ready or grab some breakfast, before the door that allows you into the park unlocks. By this time, you may or may not have noticed that one of your number is missing. The chimes play again, to announce that the park is open, and the rides and music begin to come back to life as a voice plays over the loudspeaker. "Looks like it's time to get started after all! To all our guests, have a magical morning! Dream big and have fun, but don't forget to look for the body! We'll see you in the afternoon at the Hall of Mirrors when it's time to vote, okay?" You will have until 4 PM to explore the park and talk amongst yourselves. Especially since there are seven VIPs. It just makes more sense to look at it as a strategic move planned by a team than as a single person's grudge. If this wasn't a team game, I'd be agree that trying to find a motive would be our first move. But with the way this game is set up, it's just not as important.

Well they're a group, aren't they? If they want to win, they have to have some kind of strategy planned out to keep their identities hidden from the rest of us. So yeah, basically they have an evil killing plan, I guess.

It's possible they're not all sickos. Hell, maybe none of 'em are. It's possible they're just seven normal people and the people running this are blackmailing them.

That...I don't know. I don't trust that paper, so I don't think we should vote for Legion without actual proof. But I also don't think we should just not vote...

Just because they try to convert somebody... doesn't mean it's going to work, right? If.. If the VIPs are being blackmailed... it doesn't mean everyone else here is just going to go along with it...

If it's a strategic move, then it could just be Malik was targeted because of the things he said yesterday. I didn't speak with him, but if the comments about him cutting off hands is any indication then it could be the VIPs thought he would be the best first target. "Kill someone who already seems dangerous to everyone." After all, we do not know how much the VIPs even want to be involved in this killing game.

But you make a good point. They might have chosen Malik because they felt the medical team would not want to protect him after his comments.

Everyone said that Miko-chan made a target of themself yesterday, but...in reality, it was probably the opposite, right? Because if someone was an obvious "target", the medical team had an obvious person to try to protect.

[ And they made almost certain the mafia wouldn't try to kill them, even if that was an unintended side effect of trying to lead. ]

Meanwhile, someone who wasn't someone that the medical team would feel was worth protecting...absolutely would be a better target.

Yes. The VIPs would not want to go after someone who is expected to be killed. They want to go after those who are unexpected. Reverse psychology -- acting in a contrary manner as a means of getting an expected result.

It seems the more we learn and reason out, the more issues crop up. There are so many theories floating around and no proof of anything.

Well...if the VIPs are being forced to kill, wouldn't killing to protect everyone be better than senselessly killing to begin with?

[Not that anyone should kill anyone else at all but clearly that's proven impossible at this point.]

We don't know anything about the VIPs...

Correct. In addition to their identities, we do not know how they function as a group or if they are even allowed to not kill someone here. If the ones keeping us captive want a killing game to happen, then we are nothing more than pawns in the game. A means to a sinister end.

Eyepatch thinks they're being blackmailed.

But yes, I am inclined to agree that this could be a situation involving blackmail. It is hard to be certain, but it is not out of the realm of possibility.

You have to be a pretty sick fucker to want to be involved in this shit. So...unless the VIPs are all plants, which I doubt, I'm inclined to believe these VIPs are being blackmailed, like I said earlier. Which is unfortunate, but if they're willing to kill over whatever it is that's being held over their heads, then we have no choice but to take them as a serious threat.

Yes. It is not a situation anyone here enjoys, but if the VIPs are willing to kill then we must be willing to stop them. I do not believe the killings will just stop if we hope for it, especially if blackmailing is occurring.

They won't stop because of something like that, you're right about that. [It's said with far too much conviction. Killing game alumnus, class of 12xx.] It's a shitty situation all around, but we can't just sit back and close our eyes because we don't want to hurt anybody. We might be able to put off executing people for a while until we manage to gather some damning evidence, but we can't do that forever.
