day two - afternoon
![]() [As the day wears on into the afternoon, the dead aren't getting any deader. It's late in the afternoon, and the air is beginning to cool, when the chimes play again over the park loudspeaker. "All of us here at Dreamland wish you luck, guests! Let's meet up in the Hall of Mirrors!" Wherever you are, it's time to make your way over to the House of Horrors, where you'll have to brave the funhouse to find the room on the top floor. Don't delay, or your guest identification bracelet will begin beeping. The House of Mirrors is a large room, more than capable of fitting a crowd. Tall mirrors line every wall, and the door you entered through seems to vanish into a mirror as well. The mirrors give the impression that many, many more are among your number, standing in the background. In the back is a jar filled with blank raffle tickets. You'll have to take a ticket, write down a name, and place it back in the jar. Hopefully you already know who you're voting for, but if not, you only have time for a brief discussion before you're out of time. character statuses private conversations graveyard Voting will close at 10 PM EST on September 27. |

Surely someone would've spoken up by now if Levi wasn't really the detective.

[Mori is a true man. Though Koizumi has never spoken to him - and frankly doesn't intend to do a whole lot of that, ever; she applauds at his carnival game victories and senses much more would leave him at a loss - her opinion of him is already almost as high as his head is off the ground.]
We gotta stop going in circles being so paranoid about Levi's testimony. The real detective would have had two whole nights to slap something together and clearly hasn't stepped up. And even if Levi did get converted last night, his investigation of Legion still woulda happened before then. We can wait to lynch Legion if some more really compelling evidence comes out, but we gotta lynch today and stop letting them turn ourselves against each other!

Suspects, suspects, suspects...
Once he could find a time to speak, he whistles, to get everyone's attention. And when everyone seems to be paying attention, he clears his throat.]
Now that I've got everyone's attention, I have shocking revelations about this murder that I'd like to discuss, before anyone gets any solid ideas about voting Legion! [He reaches into his vest and pulls out a few sheets of papers.]
Mabel and I had a throuough investigation of the crime scene, and we've come up with a list of suspects who may have committed the murder. But let's go through what we found out, first. [Shifting through the papers until he finds the right one.]
With the help of Pekoyama, we found out that Hiko wasn't murdered by one suspect, but two! One was using a gun, and the other was using some kind of blunt object or weapon. Now, he was hit multiple times with said blunt weapon, which means it was used by someone who had a hard time swinging it, right?
Wrong! [Flipping pages again.]
It's because he was dodging, they couldn't even get a hit in! So he was shot in the leg twice by Mr. Gun, and when he was down for the count.. BLAM! He was smacked right into the head properly, which bashed his skull in like that.
[Flipping.. again.]
Now, as for the blunt weapon, I'm pretty sure it was something like a sledge-hammer. I don't have any real proof to back that up, but I can say for sure it was something big and heavy and hard to swing, otherwise they'd be able to get a good hit in from the start. And as for the gun, well, it could've been any ordinary pistol. I don't think it was anything bigger like a shotgun or something. [Flipping to his last page.]
This leaves the list of suspects! Mabel and I have pinned it down to people who would be able to swing around something big and heavy, and those who have some kind of experience with guns. Which leaves Clash, Legion, K, Royce, Gundam, Mori, Sigma, Sheba, Kurapika, and Belgium.
So what do you ten suspects say about this, hmmmmmmm? [Putting his paper away and quietly giving Mabel a highfive. Aw yeah Mystery Twins.]

...
I have no experience with guns. And...well, I am not strong enough to do what you have said. I could wield something, perhaps, but...nothing as heavy as a sledgehammer.
...The theory isn't bad, though.
[The thing he wielded back home he used like...super special telekinetic mathematics on to lift that thing. He's a chainsmoker who is as thin as a stick, he's not exactly the strongest man in the room.]

[For some reason he looks fairly angry about this.]
I see. Well done, young one. I do indeed have that sort of power in my body, and I could indeed discharge a gun. So, yes. Perhaps I did shatter the skull of my comrade. He would have been a fool not to suspect I would betray him.
But you are wrong.

I use nonlethal wooden swords and martial arts, along with Nen, but my Nen hasn't been working since I came here. [He says firmly, without hesitation.]
I wouldn't have had any trouble hitting somebody who was dodging, because I know how to predict my opponents movements. It wasn't me.

[Here's Peko. She looks remarkably composed compared to earlier -- if by 'composed,' one means quietly furious. She won't let a vote not be cast at this point.]
And I think the wounds are extremely important to finding who did this to him.

[He rustles in the inside of his robe and pulls out a newspaper picture from Aya's paper, with a torn picture of Levi.]
Earlier today after Yuya's death, I received this picture underneath my door. There was no message and it was torn up and damp as though water had touched it. At the time I wasn't certain, but now I am. The one who sent me this message was Missile. The dampness was drool and there was no message because Missile could not write one.
In addition, I went to Levi with this information and he told me there that he did not actually clear Missile last night as he claimed but instead received a report on Yuya. But how convenient it is, to receive a report about Yuya and make mention of it after Yuya was already dead.
Everything makes sense now. Levi sent the anonymous message and then voted for Legion, using it as his proof that he is the detective. He made a very lucky pick on his role -- Missile could not properly counter-claim it. That is why he sent me this picture: he wanted someone to know the truth.
[He looks to Missile and then shows off the torn image to the dog.]
You, sent this? Yes?
