dreamland day two

39 players remaining.

[As the day wears on into the afternoon, the dead aren't getting any deader. It's late in the afternoon, and the air is beginning to cool, when the chimes play again over the park loudspeaker.
"All of us here at Dreamland wish you luck, guests! Let's meet up in the Hall of Mirrors!"

Wherever you are, it's time to make your way over to the House of Horrors, where you'll have to brave the funhouse to find the room on the top floor. Don't delay, or your guest identification bracelet will begin beeping. The House of Mirrors is a large room, more than capable of fitting a crowd. Tall mirrors line every wall, and the door you entered through seems to vanish into a mirror as well. The mirrors give the impression that many, many more are among your number, standing in the background.

In the back is a jar filled with blank raffle tickets. You'll have to take a ticket, write down a name, and place it back in the jar. Hopefully you already know who you're voting for, but if not, you only have time for a brief discussion before you're out of time.

[Peko might actively whack Belgium with her shinai if she were assigned to immediate danganronpa rebuttal team so Mahiru cuts in.]

Baseball bat versus golf club versus sledgehammer doesn't really change the theory that much. But Kuzuryuu didn't run away. That's not how yakuza operate and there's no evidence indicating otherwise in this case. At all.

Oh, alright then. In that case, someone was already close up, right? I wonder why you'd use both weapons at all. If you've already shot someone twice, why switch to a blunt weapon? If I had to kill someone and I had a gun, I would just shoot them in the temple. Even if there was more than one person, once he was down, you could finish him off with the gun instead of beating his face in.
photonement: One eye closed and speaking with a small frown (Resignation)

Well, it's pretty clear that we gotta think the killer either wanted or had to use the club - in a rule way, I mean. Both of the shots landed right in the leg. There's no way that crummy aim was the real issue here.

Do you think someone here really wanted to do something like that to him? [That's a pretty terrible thing to do to a person! Like, on top of murdering them to begin with.] At least if it was a rule that would explain it a little.
photonement: Speaking (Neutral)

[Her eyebrows kind of go up at Belgium's first sentence. Mahiru would likely be saying something different even in front of Kuzuryuu if only he were alive.]

These people had a club, they had a gun, and they killed him with the club instead of the gun. Does it look to you like they missed a fatal shot, two separate times?

I'm not saying that, but I don't want to think anyone here would want to do something like that. It's still possible they had a choice and decided to, though. Maybe they got mad at him for dodging around so much.
photonement: Looking down and holding pointer finger in front of cheek (Doubtful)

Just how vulnerable would they be, though, reaching back to get that? The scene doesn't look at all like Kuzuryuu actually fought back - which he'd be doing if he had time for anything besides dodging. [Since she's not budging on how he didn't run away] So I think Dipper's right about the hammer being in somebody's hands from the start.

Well, if it was like Dipper said, maybe the sledgehammer person was the one who got mad. ...With all this discussion, I like your idea that there was a rule about having to use the sledgehammer better.

[A smidge less horrifying that way.]

...If he did not run away, I will hunt him down in the afterlife myself.

Nuh-uh, Tanaka, we should've been over this -- you think you got our permission to die, either?

I don't need to perish to cross dimensions.

These killers possess cowardly means, these bracelets, the power afforded to them to target us in our sleep. Is it, therefore, cowardice to refuse to fight them on their own uneven terms and instead to attempt to survive on one's own strength?
photonement: Forcing a smile and speaking (Patient)

Depends on your definition of cowardice. Is it the opposite of chivalry? Because Peko-chan's the person to ask about what that means--
