![]() [You wake up in a temporary barracks set up behind an amusement park. The weather is chilly but pleasant, and there aren't any lines for the rides - in fact, it seems you have this place to yourself. The entire park appears to have been abandoned some years ago, and though everything is in working order, it is overgrown with plants and seems rusted and unsafe. As for you, something has happened, though you aren't sure what. There's a throbbing pain in your head, and you can't focus, as though you're coming off heavy pain medications. However you think you should look, you look like a human now. Under the bandages wrapped around your temple, old and smelling like blood, you'll find a recently stitched up scar wound and the inability to focus on your memories. You have no knowledge of how you came to be here; you may even have forgotten certain aspects of your life, or feel confused about them. The fact of your missing memories is obvious, a dark blank spot. Under the bandages around your wrist, you'll find a brightly colored bracelet, decorated with the face of the smiling cartoon animal on your wall, embedded into your flesh. It beeps a merry tune and welcomes you to DreamLand Fun Park. Just then, a voice comes over the loudspeaker.] "Good morning to all of our new guests! The park is now open! We'll get started later, but for now, have a magical day with your new friends! Oh, and there may be a few nasty side effects to your medical condition. If you meet someone having trouble adjusting to reality, please be polite!" [In your room, you'll find a small box containing several personal items - no weapons, magical items, or technology advanced beyond the early 21st century, and nothing dangerous, but otherwise anything you would ordinarily find on your person is there. Of course, nothing with cell reception or internet connectivity can manage to pick up a signal. If you swipe your bracelet against the steel door, it unlocks. You may now explore your accommodations, or venture out into the park.] character statuses setting This is an IC mingle covering the first day! Night roles will go up Monday at 4 PM EST, but you are welcome to continue to thread here once that happens. Make sure to follow any updates on plurk! |

But Oz looks a little surprised by that, in a pleased sort of way. More shitty kid nobles?! He has hit the jackpot, clearly.]
They must really not like you, giving you clothing like that. [Unless Ciel is from some bizarro planet where nobles all dress like Break.]
no subject
[ Once it's pointed out, Ciel immediately grimaces like he's suddenly chewing on a lemon, and he shakes his head. ]
No, clearly they do not. I assume it is supposed to be some sort of terrible joke, since this was a ridiculous costume I had to wear to a costume ball.
[ Which is completely and utterly a lie, but it's impossible to tell by how he says it. But that explanation is much better than "I needed to infiltrate a circus to kill the actors." ]
I would not dare wear this in public were there anything else, I assure you.
no subject
Either way, it seems like Oz just accepts that answer at face value, nodding along and looking sympathetic.]
Well, I don't think that they'd have much consideration for anyone, considering that they've kidnapped us all in the first place... [Hard knock kidnappee life.]
But that's an easy enough problem to fix, at least! Ah— there's the train.
[And it is indeed puffing its way up the track!!]
no subject
[ But yes, as it approaches, Ciel looks at the train doubtfully, since wow, what kind of train is this... It doesn't even look like it has first class?? But despite his frown, he won't say that, at least. ]
...Is that thing really safe?
no subject
But Oz will nod once at the question and shoot over a reassuring smile. It's better than the teacup ride, if nothing else!!]
I've taken it to Pleasant Street a few times by now and it's worked fine. We can walk if you're worried about it, though! It's not so far away that it's impossible to reach on foot.
no subject
[ Ciel frowns then shakes his head, since he'll totally ride a rickety-ass train to avoid walking... Where's his butler to carry him around when you need him, ugh. ]
No, this will do. Everything is simply in such a state of disrepair that it doesn't seem very safe...
[ He'll motion politely for Oz to go first, but it's not actually polite at all. You die first, friend. ]
no subject
Rude as hell, though. Oz totally misconstrues it as Ciel being polite because why would he suspect that such a grumpy little kid in a circus outfit would be such a shithead?? And he'll step on ahead before holding a hand back for Ciel, since the step up is pretty big and there's a gap between the trolley and the rails.]
The one thing that I would suggest not going on is the... roller coaster? I think that's what it was called! Anyway, that one's not really a good ride.
[He would know... Thank you, Ibuki.]
no subject
[ Ciel will at least take the offered hand with a more polite nod, and makes it into the train without dying. Good job, team. Though he does look a little more interested and surprised, slightly more his age than the tiny grandpa he's seemed to be up to this point. ]
...A roller coaster? That sounds dreadful. What is it?
no subject
BUT GOOD WORK. Oz will reach up to hold one of the poles as the train starts moving again since he's just a little too short to be able to hold onto the overhead rails comfortably.]
It's that really tall structure with a small cart that goes up and down the tracks. I think some parts of it are taller than most of the buildings here... If we pass it, I'll point it out!
no subject
[ Ciel thinks it over, then nods ]
I think I know which one you're talking about, and it looks dreadful. Is that really supposed to be fun?
no subject
["A little"... It is definitely broken and Oz has Regrets™.]
no subject
...Did you ride it?
no subject
It wasn't that bad, honestly! ...I wouldn't suggest that you try it, though.
no subject
[ I rode this thing, but you shouldn't ride this thing... ]
no subject
It's just the sort of thing that you'd have to be really prepared for.
no subject
How do you even prepare for something like that? [ He scoffs ] Have a doctor waiting for you at the end?
no subject
Just be ready for a bumpy ride, that's all! It actually gets from the beginning to the end without veering off the tracks, but it stops a lot.
[Which he says like that is not indicative of a more immediately dangerous problem...]
no subject
...And that does not concern you.
no subject
[the teacup ride... Which, once again, Ibuki was responsible for.]
no subject
[ oz??? gilbert is gonna swoop down from the sky screeching you know ]
no subject
It's hard to say no when someone requests that you ride with them! [He has no excuse.]
no subject
[ he would, no regrets ]
no subject
So I guess you would say no if I wanted to show you some of the better rides?
no subject
[ says the thirteen year old... ]
no subject
[HE'S GONNA DO IT
HE'S GONNA GET CIEL TO RIDE THE TEACUPS.]
