dreamland day one 41 players remaining. There are no clocks in your dorm room to help you mark the passing of time, but at a certain point, in the early hours of the morning, a cheerful chime tune plays over the loudspeaker. Whether you're awake or asleep, the door to your dorm room is now unlocked. You'll have about a forty five minutes, in which you can get ready or grab some breakfast, before the door that allows you into the park unlocks. By this time, you may or may not have noticed that one of your number is missing. The chimes play again, to announce that the park is open, and the rides and music begin to come back to life as a voice plays over the loudspeaker. "Looks like it's time to get started after all! To all our guests, have a magical morning! Dream big and have fun, but don't forget to look for the body! We'll see you in the afternoon at the Hall of Mirrors when it's time to vote, okay?" You will have until 4 PM to explore the park and talk amongst yourselves. Well, certain people get access to certain parts of the park, right? Whoever the Detonator chose could have been given the key and... I don't know, somehow got Malik got out of his room and then... his bracelet detonated?

So, a role that's allowed to wander around was probably involved!

If they've got access, then it has to be right? For all we know, the Detonator could have left they key at someone's door and that gave it the chance to unlock it or something. If they chose Mailk, maybe that unlocked his door too?

However, we have no idea who holds that role, so even if someone did use their key, only the Detonator would know who had done it. Right?

Right! But Aya's paper is already out, so we probably can't get another hint until tomorrow... maybe we should ask people who spoke to him and try to narrow it down from there?

The guy definitely wouldn't have won most charismatic, that's for sure, so someone might have targeted him for that reason alone.

Thinking about it like that, maybe they figured the medical team wouldn't try to protect him...?

That might be it. They probably chose to protect whatsherface, the one that volunteered to be a leader because they figured she might be a target of the VIPs.

Malik wouldn't have been protected because he didn't put himself out there at all and whoever he really ticked off might have be the owner of that key.

Ah...that makes sense. If they picked someone who definitely wasn't going to be protected, it...had a higher chance of success, so...

Yeah. You think we should ask around then, just in case? The guy couldn't have run into many people with that kind of attitude.

About that...wasn't he being pretty loud after we all got together for the rules announcement?

[ That is: HONEY NEVER TALKED TO THE GUY but he definitely is not...surprised........ ]

Yeah, but he was like that even before that. When I ran into him, he was accusing me of being someone who knew what happened to us. Then when I said I didn't know anything, he just shoved me and went on his way like the total loser he is.

You shouldn't speak so poorly of him!

I mean, yes, he was obviously rude and unpleasant and generally all-around nasty [thanks edea] but to murder someone because of that? It's unpardonable, no matter what his personality was!

Why? It's the truth. He just might have ticked off the wrong person and that could be the key to figuring out who might have chosen to blow him up.

For all we know, it might not even be a big deal and the VIPs could have totally done this, but it's still something we should look into.

But he was... How would they get him all the way over to the fence? Wouldn't he have run away?

If they chose to blow him up, he probably didn't have a chance of running away in the first place.

But he's waaaay in the restricted area! If someone blew him up, wouldn't it have just been in his room?

Maybe they wanted it to look like he was trying to escape? So we wouldn't think that it's someone with that key.

[ionicwoman]

But they'd blow up too, wouldn't they? I tried to get near that fence before, and the fontech bracelet started beeping like crazy!

[Needless to say she ollied right out of here, because she wasn't about to push her luck]

If the explosion was big enough, then it could have launched him right over there, but we probably would have heard that big of an explosion too. It's not like those sorta things are quiet.

[ionicwoman]

I didn't hear anything...

[fanbase]

Me either. It was totally dead quiet last night. You only hear that sorta silence in recording booths.

[ionicwoman]

Ugh, this just doesn't make sense! How are we supposed to figure it out?

[fanbase]

[ Clash stares at nothing in particular with her eyebrows furrowed. She guesses there's only one way to investigate this. ]

I might have an idea... Come with me to the Snake dorms.

[ She doesn't even wait for an answer, she just starts walking that way. ]

[ionicwoman]

Ohhh! Wait for me!

[Trails after!]

[ When they reach it, Clash heads for her room (which is properly marked, in her eyes, #1). Before the scans to open it, she turns to Anise. ]

Listen up! When the door closes, listen for my cymbals. They sound like this.

[ She clashes her wrist cymbals together. They echo loudly throughout the dorm as they're especially hard not to hear. ]
