dreamland day three 34 players remaining. There are no clocks in your dorm room to help you mark the passing of time, but at a certain point, in the early hours of the morning, a cheerful chime tune plays over the loudspeaker. Whether you're awake or asleep, the door to your dorm room is now unlocked. You'll have about a forty five minutes, in which you can get ready or grab some breakfast, before the door that allows you into the park unlocks. By this time, you may or may not have noticed that one of your number is missing. The chimes play again, to announce that the park is open, and the rides and music begin to come back to life as a voice plays over the loudspeaker. "Rise and shine! Let's have a lot of fun and look for the bodies, too!" You will have until 4 PM to explore the park and talk amongst yourselves. Besides Legion? I'd say anyone with firearm experience is a good place to start. The profiles should tell us anything like that.

I'm not prepared to narrow the list down past that just yet, but at a glance I don't see anybody else with firearms specifically mentioned. K has augmented strength and Belgium is skilled with "various weapons", but those both could mean a lot of things.

Edea was also marked as VIP, but yesterday she told me she only uses melee weapons and hand-to-hand combat like myself. Her profile seems to confirm that much.

[ She puts the ketchup on her hot dog and takes a bite of it. The greasiness so early in the morning doesn't bother her... in fact, she's glad for it! It's like being back in LA.

Once they're both ready, she heads over to the carnival area and sits on one of the solid edges for the games, leaving enough space for Mabel to take a seat next to her. ]

Awesome, right? All that other food is nice and all, but there's nothing like this! It's too bad there aren't any fries or potato chips to go with it though.

[ It's at least something to do to get his mind mostly off the fact that Mahiru is there, so dutifully, he'll inspect the area , though of course, this isn't Craven Castle, so he's out of luck for finding anything, alas. But it does seem to calm Ciel down quite a bit, since it gives him something else to focus on. He likes your method of coping, Peko. It works for him. ]

It could be even worse if someone with an important role has a buddy. We could execute someone and it'd turn out that they're a buddy of the detective... maybe even one the other roles that'll help us.

It's like this whole thing's against the regular guests. There's going to be casualties no matter what!

Stuff that theory, you still voted Levi yesterday. And the best way to keep people alive isn't to let VIPs continue killing. The only way to save lives is only if the VIPs and regular guests work together: VIPs and medical team stay on the same person each night so there's no death in the morning, anyone with keys don't use them, we all vote no one during trials, and eventually VIPs win through conversion without anyone else losing their lives. If you haven't come to that conclusion yet, you haven't taken your numbers seriously enough.

Besides, if you want to get pissed at someone, do it at whoever in charge that had the bright idea to bring in a bunch of kids in the first place.

[While the smile on his face doesn't quite reach his eyes like it usually does, it's still soft and sympathetic.]

That's fine. [No one should have to bury their friends, but Ciel in particular... With a reaction like that, it'd be too cruel to force him to deal with this more than necessary.

He'll help where he needs to instead, because it's something he can build himself up to do, at least.]

[Kaoru's actually a little grateful for the paper today. All the deaths had been pretty overwhelming, and he's only just managed to gather himself together enough to . . . well. To really function at all.

Unfortunately this news really is no better than the last few days, and even more confusing.]

[Peko nods again, turning her full attention to the body for the first time. She isn't going to lie to Mabel and tell her that she'll be fine, or even that it's alright, but,]

[Of course, there's nothing to be found with the body itself. Peko spends most of the time just kind of... standing there. It really doesn't even look like she's even paying attention to Koizumi here at all.

It takes a moment for Peko to register Ciel's voice, turning with a sharp jerk toward him and just nodding. It's a little more obvious now that she's exhausted; she hadn't slept for more than a few minutes the night before, but there's no time for it now. She jumps down from the teacup and moves to make sure he doesn't have to look anywhere near it to speak with her.]

I have not found anything, either. We should return to the others.

[And she'll ensure Koizumi is buried, too, but she doesn't want to mention that directly to Ciel here.]

[Peko just shakes her head slowly and exhales through her nose, not sounding convinced. She doesn't really think it would have made much of a difference. But more than anything, she just looks tired. She's angry about Koizumi, but she's exhausted about Kuzuryuu; she clearly hasn't slept more than a few minutes since the trial yesterday.]

We will. No matter whether the grudge was against our classmate, or against Dipper Pines... they will be stopped.

[ He says it rather feebly, but nods as he tries to compose himself. But it gives him direction, so he'll start heading back to the mess hall. ]

[Peko no one asked for your opinion. That's kind of rude, too. Also you look like you should go take a nap, those bags under your eyes are nothing to sneeze at.]

Rather, we should all follow his example and ensure that we investigate any potential suspects thoroughly.

Did the rest of you see that new--role? On the bulletin board? It was just three question marks with "objectives unknown" next to it, but it was with all the others and I don't think that was there before.

[He'll walk along with Ciel, careful once more to keep walking alongside him so that Ciel won't have to glance backward and risk seeing the body a second time.]

...I can't say that I understand it, either. [He's got a few theories, but they're all pretty cruel and he doesn't want to upset Ciel any further by bringing something like that up.

He'll step ahead a little once they get to the mess hall to grab a bottle for him, quietly handing it over.]

[ That strategy is pretty trash to her ears, but that's not what she responds to. ]

I was hoping that maybe some of them were just scared, and didn't know what they'd doing. I... don't think that's true anymore, either. Or even if it is... if they haven't backed out now, I don't think they will... [ "Row row fight the power" is what she said to them in the newspaper this morning... well, it doesn't look like the VIPs want to. Talk about rude. ]

But how are we going to destroy them without more people dying? We can't lose anyone else!

[ Ciel nods, then starts to walk back to where the others nebulously are, though he still looks pale and out of sorts, rather unsurprisingly. And whether it's conscious on his part or not, he'll stay somewhat close to Peko, as if being nearer to her provides him some sort of comfort, or a pillar for him to keep up his regal image. Though it doesn't take long before he speaks up, because honestly...

With the comparison drawn in his mind now, he can't help but wonder. ]

[She hums a quiet affirmative, glancing toward him. They're probably headed in the general direction of the mess hall, partially as Peko considers it a headquarters of sorts, mostly because after vomiting, Ciel could probably use something to eat, or at least some water.]

[ Ciel takes the water bottle, but just looks at it in his hands before clutching it tightly. He doesn't take a drink, not yet, but he does feel the need to explain, at least in some part. ]

It didn't occur to me until... today, really.

She looked like my Aunt Ann. They— They had a similar kind of personality too, I think. It's hard to say, since it's not as if I truly knew her, but— [ He breaks off there with a cough, shaking his head as if to say he's fine, but that should also explain the visceral reaction, at least partially. ]

What was she like?

[ He says it softly, and though there's a distance to his voice, it's also clear enough that some of that is forced into his tone. Mahiru had been kind to him— Exceptionally kind, really. This is different than seeing true strangers. ]
