dreamland day one

41 players remaining.

[As the day wears on into the afternoon, the dead aren't getting any deader. It's late in the afternoon, and the air is beginning to cool, when the chimes play again over the park loudspeaker.
"All of us here at Dreamland wish you luck, guests! Let's meet up in the Hall of Mirrors!"

Wherever you are, it's time to make your way over to the House of Horrors, where you'll have to brave the funhouse to find the room on the top floor. Don't delay, or your guest identification bracelet will begin beeping. The House of Mirrors is a large room, more than capable of fitting a crowd. Tall mirrors line every wall, and the door you entered through seems to vanish into a mirror as well. The mirrors give the impression that many, many more are among your number, standing in the background.

In the back is a jar filled with blank raffle tickets. You'll have to take a ticket, write down a name, and place it back in the jar. Hopefully you already know who you're voting for, but if not, you only have time for a brief discussion before you're out of time.

But they could do the same thing! If the anonymous note was truly left by a VIP, then why did the detective not leave their own to dispute it?

Because they're out of time, or maybe because they didn't want to risk their neck? There's plenty of reasons. You can't exactly blame the person.

Maybe the note could have been intended to draw out the true detective, if it's fake?
royalizing: (this is how it must be)

[personal profile] royalizing 2014-09-24 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
But if the note is faked, then the true detective is the only one who can know for certain. If they simply slipped an anonymous note of their own to Aya, we would know that we cannot simply take the first note for what it seems while keeping their identity safe.

If no one disputes it, then it remains the only clue we have.
siggey: (who wants to talk about the chinese room)

Who knows? A lot of people have been throwing theories around. They could make any amount of sense, but it's not like we can prove or disprove any of them.

But if what you're saying is true, then all the more reason for the real detective to lay low. VIPs probably want to kill the guy most, if they're playing seriously by those messed up rules.
shoutoku_administrator: (Hmm I see I see)

Perhaps they didn't think of it until they saw the paper this morning.
royalizing: (don't throw your life away)

[personal profile] royalizing 2014-09-24 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
But it's not too late! Not until we've voted.
shoutoku_administrator: (I'm listening)

If that was a fake, then the real detective would be taking a huge risk by revealing themselves before the entire group. They would immediately become the number one target of the VIPs.

No, of course not. But if they knew the note was a fake, they could leave another anonymous note saying so. Then their identity would remain safe.
shoutoku_administrator: (That was a long time ago)

[personal profile] shoutoku_administrator 2014-09-24 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
We're all in the same room, surrounded by mirrors. How do you expect them to leave an anonymous note before the vote?
royalizing: (you're right i'm sorry)

oh my god please assume i suck lmfao i forgot about the mirrors

[personal profile] royalizing 2014-09-24 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I... [ He ... has a point. ] Yes, I suppose so.

Then if this note is fake, there's no way we can know before we have to make a decision.
shoutoku_administrator: (Hmm I see I see)

WHOOPS

[personal profile] shoutoku_administrator 2014-09-24 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Indeed. One way or another, we must take a risk.
royalizing: (pensive)

To be forced to a gamble with someone's life... How horrible. [ She feels bad for Legion... ]

It feels like the odds are overwhelmingly against us... If we vote, we may vote for someone innocent. If we don't, then the VIPs can add to their numbers.
