day one - afternoon
![]() [As the day wears on into the afternoon, the dead aren't getting any deader. It's late in the afternoon, and the air is beginning to cool, when the chimes play again over the park loudspeaker. "All of us here at Dreamland wish you luck, guests! Let's meet up in the Hall of Mirrors!" Wherever you are, it's time to make your way over to the House of Horrors, where you'll have to brave the funhouse to find the room on the top floor. Don't delay, or your guest identification bracelet will begin beeping. The House of Mirrors is a large room, more than capable of fitting a crowd. Tall mirrors line every wall, and the door you entered through seems to vanish into a mirror as well. The mirrors give the impression that many, many more are among your number, standing in the background. In the back is a jar filled with blank raffle tickets. You'll have to take a ticket, write down a name, and place it back in the jar. Hopefully you already know who you're voting for, but if not, you only have time for a brief discussion before you're out of time. character statuses private conversations graveyard Voting will close at 10 PM EST on Sept 24. |

The VIPs, in their discussion, realize that the detective, once they have enough information, would find a way to distribute it anonymously. In order to cut this off, they do this on their own - by giving an anonymous tip that ends in the execution of an innocent, the entire group is soured on the possibility of a reliable, anonymous detective. From that moment on, the detective must come forward in the open to be trusted at all, and in doing so become a target for their enemies.
Something along those lines, at least, is a possibility.

But wouldn't drawing the detective out be quite risky,'? After all, we have the medical team.

If no one disputes it, then it remains the only clue we have.

But if what you're saying is true, then all the more reason for the real detective to lay low. VIPs probably want to kill the guy most, if they're playing seriously by those messed up rules.

oh my god please assume i suck lmfao i forgot about the mirrors
Then if this note is fake, there's no way we can know before we have to make a decision.
WHOOPS
this is what i get for tagging and studying at the same time...
It feels like the odds are overwhelmingly against us... If we vote, we may vote for someone innocent. If we don't, then the VIPs can add to their numbers.
