day seven - afternoon
![]() [As the day wears on into the afternoon, the dead aren't getting any deader. It's late in the afternoon, and the air is beginning to cool, when the chimes play again over the park loudspeaker. "All of us here at Dreamland wish you luck, guests! Let's meet up in the Hall of Mirrors!" Wherever you are, it's time to make your way over to the House of Horrors, where you'll have to brave the funhouse to find the room on the top floor. Don't delay, or your guest identification bracelet will begin beeping. The House of Mirrors is a large room, more than capable of fitting a crowd. Tall mirrors line every wall, and the door you entered through seems to vanish into a mirror as well. The mirrors give the impression that many, many more are among your number, standing in the background. In the back is a jar filled with blank raffle tickets. You'll have to take a ticket, write down a name, and place it back in the jar. Hopefully you already know who you're voting for, but if not, you only have time for a brief discussion before you're out of time. character statuses private conversations graveyard Voting will close at 10 PM EST on October 10. |

[ It surprisingly doesn't sound sarcastic. Clash is dressed to the nines (as dressed to the nines one can be with the clothing that's offered here) and is wearing her signature fuzzy neon coat. Her make-up has more precision than ever and she looks at herself in one of the mirrors before she smiles to Oz standing next to her.
She stands tall and addresses the entire room. ]
I wanted you guys to wait until we got here because this is how I want it. I want it to end this way and even if you guys don't think I deserve that, I do.
I didn't know I was the bomber until yesterday. Like the VIPs, I blacked out when I killed people. It was always in the morning and I didn't notice until yesterday when I reached into my pocket and found… [ She holds out the detonator again. ] This.
I don't know where I hid it before or if I hid it in such an obvious place yesterday because I wanted to be found, but I didn't want to tell you guys this earlier today because… I didn't want you to think that I wasn't a monster. I didn't want you to convince yourselves and find ways for me to live, just because I was being controlled like the others.
When I started realizing what happened during those moments I couldn't remember… I was terrified. I'm still terrified. I don't want someone else to make decisions for me! I deserve to be able to choose what I want and when I want it.
Which is why I want all of you to choose to execute me. That's what I want more than anything else… because if I'm not stopped now, then they'll keep making me kill people. At least the medical team can protect someone from the VIPs. No one can protect people from me.
You've still got VIPs to kill, but I know you guys can do it. You guys can end this once and for all, but to make sure you can do that you have to stop me first and… I want all of you to have the chance to do that. I don't want to kill any more people.
If you all really care about each other, you'll choose to end my life tonight.

So that's it. You simply want to stop killing, even if it's at the cost of your own life?
[ It sounds like there's another question there, but he wants this one addressed first. ]

Um— Yesterday Gundam said something about having options on the table, and I agree... Because I think people are making good points about the MVP vote and things like that, so I want to put a second option on the table. Patchouli is definitely a VIP - she's the last person that Belgium and I checked last night. I don't have the photographs from that to prove it, since that and the camera are still in her room, but I do have ones from earlier days if anyone wants to see those. [There's something uncomfortably weighty about being the person to directly accuse someone of these things rather than just leaving behind a note, but he'll square his shoulders regardless. If he's going to condemn someone, he won't do it disgracefully by tucking tail at the same time.]
...I'm not really sure how much longer I'll be able to help you all, but I'll do what I can with any time that I have left.

Has the detonator given a key? If not...the choice on our hands may be a difficult one. But I would suggest we execute the VIP and have the detonator give a key tonight to deal with Clash.

[Peko's standing with her arms crossed loosely across her body, leaning against a nearby wall. She looks exhausted and disgusted with the proceedings, shaking her head.]
We execute Knowledge. Tie Montgomery up and leave her near the fence. The bracelet will take care of the rest.

...Miss Pekoyama, that is, er... I suppose it is an option, yes, but that would be...
[ awful??? ]
The murders on our hands thus far are somewhat figurative. I would prefer to not make it literal.

There is a key. We can blow her up whenever she's ready. But if we do it in here, her guts are going to get everywhere, and these clothes they've given us are ugly enough without getting blood all over them!

Everyone just stop it! Listen to yourselves right now!! All of this fighting isn't doing anyone any good! And what's worse, do you even realize what half of you are saying? Leave her by the fence? Make her kill herself?
None of you are any better than Clash or the VIPs! You all sound like a bunch of awful murderers right now! Why should they die when you're all being just as awful as they are? None of us deserve to live if we're just going to turn into the monsters we're all so afraid of!
[And she will happily point her finger out at everyone. You're all monsters right now. Are you proud of yourselves?]
We need to make a decision and we're not going to do that be saying all of this and fighting. We need to talk about it, not just be angry and mean and hurtful, because that's not going to do anything. Being mean to Clash isn't going to change what she did. Being mean to Patchouli won't change anything that the VIPs did. So stop acting like a bunch of animals!

Mabel... [ Her voice is softer than usual. She's stuck standing in place without knowing what to do, feeling more terrified than ever. It only takes a moment for her to smile and then to grin. She's really proud of her right now. ] I knew we were friends for a reason!

Yes... You're right.

The truth is, even though everyone else accepted it awhile ago, I've never believed for a second the VIPs weren't aware of what they were doing. Call me cynical, but it seemed like the perfect act to confuse the rest of us. Or maybe I just didn't want to see why I should sympathize with people who might murder me at any given time. But tonight with Clash... well, suffice it to say I now believe it's possible, that people could be killing each other without even knowing it.
I'm still a little reluctant to bring this up. I think I already regret it. But if I understood the rules about buddy cops surviving one another, we might not have more than another night with our last cop. That means it's now or never...
I'm scared to death, but I have to ask: Oz, will you investigate me tonight? I can't say anything with certainty, but I've been having some weird nightmares lately. I'd really like to think it's just stress... but I'm starting to wonder if I might be a VIP.
