day seven - afternoon
![]() [As the day wears on into the afternoon, the dead aren't getting any deader. It's late in the afternoon, and the air is beginning to cool, when the chimes play again over the park loudspeaker. "All of us here at Dreamland wish you luck, guests! Let's meet up in the Hall of Mirrors!" Wherever you are, it's time to make your way over to the House of Horrors, where you'll have to brave the funhouse to find the room on the top floor. Don't delay, or your guest identification bracelet will begin beeping. The House of Mirrors is a large room, more than capable of fitting a crowd. Tall mirrors line every wall, and the door you entered through seems to vanish into a mirror as well. The mirrors give the impression that many, many more are among your number, standing in the background. In the back is a jar filled with blank raffle tickets. You'll have to take a ticket, write down a name, and place it back in the jar. Hopefully you already know who you're voting for, but if not, you only have time for a brief discussion before you're out of time. character statuses private conversations graveyard Voting will close at 10 PM EST on October 10. |

...Miss Pekoyama, that is, er... I suppose it is an option, yes, but that would be...
[ awful??? ]
The murders on our hands thus far are somewhat figurative. I would prefer to not make it literal.

Peko doesn't look fazed at all, just giving Ciel a bit of an even stare.]
I will take it upon myself if necessary.

[ As the discussions continue, Ciel has to pause in disbelief, because he cannot believe what he is hearing, then he shakes his head vehemently. ]
Just stop it! Listen to yourselves! Murdering her, telling her to commit suicide? We have a solution! Please don't say that you're going to take this burden upon yourself. It's not like that. We're all stuck here together, so we would have to share that equally! This is madness!

[She pauses and meets his eye, a touch of uncertainty pulling at her lips for a moment before firming again.]
I have told you before. I take no shame in dirtying my hands for the sake of another.
[There's literally only two people left alive she would say that too... congrats Ciel... She's offering to take the blame for anything he doesn't want to.]

[ He says that much earnestly, but looks at her imploringly. His face is full of concern, and maybe no small amount of fear mixed in. This is way more than just voting to send someone to the gallows or even detonating Clash, so he's very clearly upset. ]
But please, in respect of that, I ask that you do not. We do not need to do this. This would be cruel. We are better than that, at least.

[Again, she just stares at him for a long moment, gaze flicking over his face as if trying to find something. Before inclining her head, shoulders sagging a bit before she looks up again.]
Very well.

Thank you.
[ He says that almost desperately, but it's in earnest. He does reach out this time, gently placing a hand on her arm if she'll let him. ]
You don't have to dirty your hands for my sake or anyone else's. Let us just do the best we can to live, Miss Pekoyama, and to let those that must die go with as much grace and humanity as we can.

That... is an interesting way to look at it.
[Peko looks past him and exhales heavily again.]
But not, perhaps... a bad one.

Then let us strive for that. We need not become animals in the face of fear of death.
