dreamland day zero

42 players remaining.

[Once the announcements are over, there's no further response from the voice over the intercom. The afternoon wears on, demanding nothing more of you. The park will remain open until late in the evening, when the fireworks go off, but you can always go back earlier.

In fact, it might be wise to gather your fellow players and discuss what you've learned in the mess hall.]

This is a mingle following the plot revelations yesterday! Characters can gather in the mess hall and discuss what they've learned and make plans. Night will go up at the same time, and this post will be backdated.

That's the whole point. Whoever's using that PA system is doing this because they know there's no way to avoid casualties. A night where no one dies still means someone being converted or getting that key.

That's why we've gotta work together and use all out best assets to stop this as quickly as we possibly can.

I know, I know. [He's frustrated, but not at her.]

There has to be an idea with lower risks. No leader at all, but maybe a set of rules...

We don't even know how they work yet. For all we know, they could try to pick out who they think is the weakest before they go for the strongest. Or do something completely different.

There's just a whole lotta factors to take into consideration and we can only do so much until this whole thing is put into action. That's why I suggested Levi, he might be able to help us with figuring out how they think.

A man like that is best an adviser, not a leader. He sounds like he would be too easy to convince to join their side, going by your description.

[Kurapika is definitely not voting Levi in anytime soon.]

What do you think we should do then?

We should work together. Assigning leaders right now, before we've had more time to get to know each other...I just don't like it. The natural leaders will show themselves if we give them time.

I know we don't have a lot to spare, but organizing rules among us, patrols, and teams so no one is alone... That might be best in the meantime.

I think talking about the leaders is at least a good idea. We can establish who might be good candidates, but having leaders has never been a bad idea.

What about at night? Only the people with roles are the ones who get the special parts of the park unlocked. It's not like we can go there to watch them and our rooms are only big enough for one person. We can't keep an eye on everyone at all times.

Discussing it is fine, but I would wait to take action. For now it's best to just ensure no one gets killed. [And as for that last bit, he sighs.] I heard someone suggest patrols. I think a few of those around the barracks might do the trick.

We can wait to take action, but it still doesn't mean risks aren't gonna be involved.

If this thing is what it says it is, I really doubt we're going to avoid casualties entirely. Even the patrols could be VIPs and it might give them a bigger advantage to know of who to kill and who to turn and that doesn't even take the Detonator into account.

I know.

Casualties...I'd like to avoid them, but they might be inevitable until we can figure out a way to stop the game, or at least break the system. The most we can do is try our best to minimize them and end this as quickly as possible.

We'll have to put our trust in some people...and hope we make the right decision when we do.
