The weather is chilly but pleasant, and there aren't any lines for the rides - in fact, it seems you have this place to yourself. The entire park appears to have been abandoned some years ago, and though everything is in working order, it is overgrown with plants and seems rusted and unsafe. As for you, something has happened, though you aren't sure what. There's a throbbing pain in your head, and you can't focus, as though you're coming off heavy pain medications. However you think you should look, you look like a human now. Under the bandages wrapped around your temple, old and smelling like blood, you'll find a recently stitched up scar wound and the inability to focus on your memories. You have no knowledge of how you came to be here; you may even have forgotten certain aspects of your life, or feel confused about them. The fact of your missing memories is obvious, a dark blank spot. Under the bandages around your wrist, you'll find a brightly colored bracelet, decorated with the face of the smiling cartoon animal on your wall, embedded into your flesh. It beeps a merry tune and welcomes you to DreamLand Fun Park. Just then, a voice comes over the loudspeaker.] "Good morning to all of our new guests! The park is now open! We'll get started later, but for now, have a magical day with your new friends! Oh, and there may be a few nasty side effects to your medical condition. If you meet someone having trouble adjusting to reality, please be polite!" [In your room, you'll find a small box containing several personal items - no weapons, magical items, or technology advanced beyond the early 21st century, and nothing dangerous, but otherwise anything you would ordinarily find on your person is there. Of course, nothing with cell reception or internet connectivity can manage to pick up a signal. If you swipe your bracelet against the steel door, it unlocks. ...okay. [He gives her a smile, then, a little more genuine than before.]

[ineptus]

There! That's the Dipper I know! Well, almost.

[Just going to dig into his vest and pull out his journal, and then shove it in his hands.]

Get investigating, mister! I can't be the Mystery Twins all by myself you know!

[terci]

[He takes a step back from the force of the little shove, but gladly takes his journal and nods.]

Yeah, this is a mystery just begging to be solved! I mean, weird abandoned amusement part? Creepy disembodied voice over an intercom? Having no memory of even arriving here?? [His face lights up.]

This is the case of the century, Mabel! And we're going to be the ones who solve it! [And now he's holding his fist out, for an obligatory fist bump.]

Mystery twins! [And she of course finishes the fist bump.]

Okay, mister Guy with the Journal, where do we start?

[terci]

First we need to figure out what state or country we're even in. [He puts his journal back into his vest for now, and places one hand on his hip, and the other to his chin.]

I'm pretty sure all the rides and concession stands have mostly English written on them, so that's at least 72 different countries we could be in, counting countries where English is at least an official language. [He turns to the left and begins pacing back and forth.]

But considering the fact that there are a lot of other languages on those signs, that means we have to be in a pretty universal country. A country that's big on tourism. [He stops for a moment and thinks.]

..that means we're probably somewhere in the Eastern Hemisphere. Maybe Malaysia? Or China? [He looks at Mabel then, to make sure she's listening.]

Are you following this, Mabel?

....yes.

[The look on her face might say more of a no though.]

...Mabel, we can't solve stuff together if I'm the only one doing the thinking! [PAY ATTENTION...]

[ineptus]

I'm thinking too! I'm getting all the important stuff anyway. We're in Malaysia or China or something, right?

[Look at this face. Can you really be frustrated with a face like this?]

[terci]

[Yes he can. Very easily.]

We might be in Malaysia or China. Or Singapore. I'm not really sure yet but the closer we are to figuring that out, the closer we are to figuring everything else out.

[ineptus]

Okay, okay, might be. But what would it mean if we were in one of those places? And how did we even get here? I know they said they took our memories but aren't those like...a long ways away from Oregon? How many memories did they take exactly??

[terci]

[He. He didn't even think about that...]


Maybe we were taken there by plane? So we only lost.. a few hours..?

[ineptus]

Okay but how did they get us all into a plane? Or do they have multiple planes...?

[terci]

They could have multiple.. or like a really big plane..? [Mabel he's starting to freak out a little again..]

[ineptus]

...Dipper. No. Calm down. [Mabel are you talking to your brother or a dog...]

Whatever happened, it was probably only a couple hours of memory lost yeah! So nothing major. Like...what's the last thing you remember happening? Before waking up here?

[terci]

Uh.. I remember us going to the mini golf court. You were kicking everyone's butts until Pacifica showed up and then you guys decided on having a match at midnight instead of like, the next day, for some reason. Aaand during the golf match lots of weird things happened and I think you two made up? [That was a bunch of fun]

[ineptus]

Oh, oh! Do you remember the cute little miner balls?

[terci]

Hahah, yeah I do. And the little Dutch ones. Who, y'know, tried to kill us.

[ineptus]

Yeah but the miners were really cute.

[OKAY MABEL FOCUS. FOCUS.]

That's exactly what I remember too though! So we can't have lost too much time.

[terci]

[He nods.]

So we went to bed and sometime during the night, we were kidnapped. But we went back to the shack around 2AM and woke up here around... I dunno six in the morning maybe? [He shrugs]

Anyway, that means we either took around four hours to get here, or twenty.

[ineptus]

Right. So then what places are only four to twenty hours within Oregon?

[terci]

It depends on the mode of transportation. If it's only four hours, we're definitely still in the United States, even by something fast like a plane. But twenty hours is different, I don't even think a plane from Oregon to Australia is that long, so it'd have to be by train or car or boat.

[ineptus]

A boat could work, couldn't it? Everyone could fit in a boat.

[terci]

[There's a pause as he thinks about what she says, which causes him to groan and smack his forehead.]

I didn't even think about the time it would take to pick everyone up from where they were! That brings out so many more possibilities! [Well now he's back to square one..]

[ineptus]

Okay well calm down and breathe and then let's figure out these possibilities!

[terci]

[He takes a deep breath as instructed and stands there quietly for a minute.]
