[You wake up in a temporary barracks set up behind an amusement park. The weather is chilly but pleasant, and there aren't any lines for the rides - in fact, it seems you have this place to yourself. The entire park appears to have been abandoned some years ago, and though everything is in working order, it is overgrown with plants and seems rusted and unsafe.

As for you, something has happened, though you aren't sure what. There's a throbbing pain in your head, and you can't focus, as though you're coming off heavy pain medications. However you think you should look, you look like a human now. Under the bandages wrapped around your temple, old and smelling like blood, you'll find a recently stitched up scar wound and the inability to focus on your memories. You have no knowledge of how you came to be here; you may even have forgotten certain aspects of your life, or feel confused about them. The fact of your missing memories is obvious, a dark blank spot. Under the bandages around your wrist, you'll find a brightly colored bracelet, decorated with the face of the smiling cartoon animal on your wall, embedded into your flesh. It beeps a merry tune and welcomes you to DreamLand Fun Park. Just then, a voice comes over the loudspeaker.]

"Good morning to all of our new guests! The park is now open! We'll get started later, but for now, have a magical day with your new friends! Oh, and there may be a few nasty side effects to your medical condition. If you meet someone having trouble adjusting to reality, please be polite!"

[In your room, you'll find a small box containing several personal items - no weapons, magical items, or technology advanced beyond the early 21st century, and nothing dangerous, but otherwise anything you would ordinarily find on your person is there. Of course, nothing with cell reception or internet connectivity can manage to pick up a signal.

If you swipe your bracelet against the steel door, it unlocks. You may now explore your accommodations, or venture out into the park.]

Natalia instinctively pushes the finger out of her face, still half-waking up. And then the other girl's words sink in and any lingering sleepiness vanishes. ]

Kidnap? [ This... is definitely not her room at the castle. ] What is this place?!

A place of kidnap and abduction!

[Edea responds redundantly.]

And... grotesque medical violations! Look!

[She'll gesture to the bandages on the head and wrist.]

I bet this is one of Victor's schemes.

[ Natalia's definitely growing more alarmed by the minute as she feels her head, and winces slightly in pain. ]

'Victor'? You know who the person behind this abduction is?

Victor S. Court.

Genius physician, brilliant scientist, and a complete loony. If he's involved, we're really in a pickle...

I'm surprised I don't see my friends, though.

Genius or not, he won't get away with this, if he truly is the one behind it. [ She sounds absolutely certain of that. ]

Were your friends with you before you woke up?

Yes. And they're the ones that Victor - and all of his associates - actually want to capture. I'm just... an extra.

[Edea will take a few steps away now to flop on a bunk.]

...But I don't think it could be about capturing Agnes. I don't know who any of you are.

[She sits up.]

You're not the Vestal of Fire or anything, are you?

The... Vestal of Fire? [ ?? ]

I'm afraid I don't know what that means.

[Edea frowns and springs up again, beginning to pace.]

...My name is Edea Lee. My father is the Templar, leader of Eternia. I was on a journey to restore the world through the power of the Vestal of Wind, my good friend, Agnes Oblige.

Eternia... No, I've never heard of a place by that name.

[ Or of 'the Templar' or what a 'Vestal' was... She ventures a guess. ] Was it within the Qliphoth?

Our worlds have been linked! That's the only explanation. I knew all of that world-looping would end up breaking something.

The power of the Crystals connects all worlds that rely on their power! I didn't believe it at first, either until I dropped into a parallel world a few times.

It sounds like ours are very different, but then, the Crystals connect millions of worlds.

But if that were the case, surely I would have heard of these Crystals before.

I'm new to this whole Crystal business, but that's the only way I know of to link worlds where I'm from. I guess it's conceivable that some...thing might be able to produce the same effect, but it'd have to be ridiculously powerful.

[ She still feels like she would've known about any Crystals but... well, there was no shortage of new things she'd discovered in the past year. ]

Regardless of how we arrived here, what we need to focus on now is to find a way out. Are we the only ones here?

I don't think so. I took a look outside and there were a few other rooms just like this.

[ She's imagining the kind with the scenic routes and hiking trails.. ] What is there to stop us from simply leaving?

I intend to scale it as soon as possible. I'm sure there will be some sort of guard, but our best bet is to escape as quickly as we can.

[ She finally stands up, now that her head's recovered mostly too. ] I'll come with you when you try.

Why don't you keep a lookout for me - I'll let you know if I think the coast is clear once I'm near the top?
