dreamland day three 34 players remaining. There are no clocks in your dorm room to help you mark the passing of time, but at a certain point, in the early hours of the morning, a cheerful chime tune plays over the loudspeaker. Whether you're awake or asleep, the door to your dorm room is now unlocked. You'll have about a forty five minutes, in which you can get ready or grab some breakfast, before the door that allows you into the park unlocks. By this time, you may or may not have noticed that one of your number is missing. The chimes play again, to announce that the park is open, and the rides and music begin to come back to life as a voice plays over the loudspeaker. "Rise and shine! Let's have a lot of fun and look for the bodies, too!" You will have until 4 PM to explore the park and talk amongst yourselves. [In the park outside Dreamland Castle, there sits a small box. Inside of that box, there sits a bracelet, displaying the name "Charles Macaulay." Attached to that bracelet is a human hand.

There is also a short, typed note in the box, stating only that there were some problems and that Charles needed to be removed. One corner has been torn off, but it's well below the text, and only a small piece has been taken, so it doesn't seem as though much, if any, information could have been taken.]

[ fun thing: playing keepaway with severed limbs. at leas to Nui Harime. Because in happening upon the hand in the box, her first instinct is to pick it up and poke at it. She'll shout at any nearby guests: ]

Hey! I think our mystery killer struck again!

[ After seeing the name on the bracelet, Francis looks ill. ]

[ giggles ] It's just a hand. You're all getting so worked up.

He's—he's my friend. [ Because maybe he's still alive, maybe that hand isn't really his, but it's still the principle of the thing. ] Give it to me.

[Watching kind of blankly. No change in expression.]

What does it matter? Gonna chalk me up as a suspect?

[ Except Ciel is very Not Amused by Nui's antics, though he's at least not barfing, so that's an improvement from earlier today, at least. ]

[ Clash is clearly disturbed to see a human hand and nothing more attached to it, but she isn't going to be another one to yell at Nui. She's more curious about that comment. ]

You think that's what that 'objectives unknown' thing meant? That it's someone who does stuff like... this?

[ After a bit, Francis will be sitting on his knees near the box, reading the note over and over with shaky hands. He looks fairly close to tears. ]

What is this supposed to mean? Was it the VIPs or— [ He's not sure how to finish. ]

Do any of us have access to something we could use to type a note? [Belgium gets the feeling this is the work of their kidnappers.]

...Maybe you could check his room. If you're feeling up to it. [THEY HAVE HIS BRACELET. On his hand...]

They have access to all those weapons. [ But he doesn't actually know which fate is worse. ] What do you think is in there?

No. He was an old friend of mine. And I don't even know what happened to him.

[Keyes tends to avoid crowds, particularly the ones looking at bodies (or parts of them), but he's been hovering on the outskirts of this one. Eventually, reluctantly, he approaches Francis.]

E-excuse me...

[ Francis does not appear to welcome company at the moment, but he looks up. ]

It's probably not the VIP. Their victims are announced in the bulletin, and we usually find their... whole body... [ okay, maybe that was pretty tactless of her. ]
