dreamland day three 34 players remaining. There are no clocks in your dorm room to help you mark the passing of time, but at a certain point, in the early hours of the morning, a cheerful chime tune plays over the loudspeaker. Whether you're awake or asleep, the door to your dorm room is now unlocked. You'll have about a forty five minutes, in which you can get ready or grab some breakfast, before the door that allows you into the park unlocks. By this time, you may or may not have noticed that one of your number is missing. The chimes play again, to announce that the park is open, and the rides and music begin to come back to life as a voice plays over the loudspeaker. "Rise and shine! Let's have a lot of fun and look for the bodies, too!" You will have until 4 PM to explore the park and talk amongst yourselves. [It's okay, Clash. Any help is good for her. She's a very social girl, so just having people there for her is good...it doesn't make anything better - nothing will ever be better - but it helps.

She just watches her for a moment, the bags already forming under her eyes from this whole ordeal dark and still wet with fresh tears, before nodding and holding out a hand towards her.]

[fanbase]

[ She looks between her and her outstretched hand a couple of times, then reaches out to grab it. Her palms are extremely soft — like she's never played an instrument in her life — but her grip is firm. She leads them away from the trains and towards the Snake barracks so she can grab her palette.

Even if Mabel isn't a Misfit or even a bandmate, she's not going to ditch her just because she doesn't know how to react. ]

[Mabel's grip is almost too firm in return as she follows, still sniffling and hiccuping behind Clash. Make-up might be a bad idea, she'd probably just ruin it with her tears...but she's not going to say no to trying. It won't get her to stop thinking about Dipper, but it'll help distract her a little.

It's not until they reach the barracks that she finally speaks again, even though it's quiet and shaky.]

[ She looks... conflicted. Clash knows it's something she should expect — something she would normally want to be praised for — but she doesn't. She lapses into a long silence and searches for words that make her look cool, but she's at a loss.

She uses her bracelet to open the door, not letting go of Mabel's hand all the while. ]

After my mom left, my dad was always there for me. [ She grabs her palette, surprised at how much she's revealing right now. Once she clutches it close to her chest, she leads the way to a more open, quiet spot where they can sit and enjoy themselves without feeling cramped. ] We'd always do silly stuff like go to the park and laugh at the geese chasing me or we'd watch cartoons together, he adores me and always has.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that... you're welcome.

[Again Mabel is quiet, listening as the older girl talks and following after her wherever she wanted to go. Clash could probably lead her to the end of the world right now and Mabel would still go quietly after.

But she kind of also trusts her not to do that so. Please not to be leading her to her death.

But when she tells her about her dad and all the stuff they'd do together, she reaches up to wipe at her eyes again. She nods at the, "you're welcome" though.]

[ She leads them away from any trains or tea cups and steers them toward where the carnival games are instead. At least they can find a sitting place there for her to to Mabel's make-up. The silence makes her feel uneasy, but it isn't like she can interrupt it with something lest it somehow upset her even more. ]

You hungry? The hot dogs here are amazing, they're really greasy.

[ineptus]

[She's sorry, Clash. She really is. She doesn't mean to make anyone uncomfortable, she just doesn't know what to do or say now...but she nods a little at the mention of hot dogs.]

A little, yeah...hot dogs sound good...

[fanbase]

Alright.

[ She gives Mabel's arm a little tug to signify following her. Once they reach the food, she lets go of her hand and gets two hot dogs for the both of them, before reaching over to grab some ketchup and mustard packets in her most haphazard manner. The napkins are pretty much an afterthought.

Clash isn't very hungry herself, but she knows that she's gotta eat to get through the rest of this day, considering a lot has to be discussed. ]

We'll eat and then I'll do your make-up. We'll do something different with it this time to make you look even cooler.

[ineptus]

[...that gets a little smile out of her and she nods, taking the hot dog with a thank you. Lots of ketchup goes on top of, with just a little mustard to follow. And the napkins should probably be more than an afterthought, otherwise her make up is going to be made more of condiments than actual cosmetics.]

These are pretty good. I've only eaten the cotton candy and ice cream from here...

[ She puts the ketchup on her hot dog and takes a bite of it. The greasiness so early in the morning doesn't bother her... in fact, she's glad for it! It's like being back in LA.

Once they're both ready, she heads over to the carnival area and sits on one of the solid edges for the games, leaving enough space for Mabel to take a seat next to her. ]

Awesome, right? All that other food is nice and all, but there's nothing like this! It's too bad there aren't any fries or potato chips to go with it though.

[ineptus]

I wish there were fries. Carnival fries are the best...

[Especially those blocks of curly fries! Those are delicious...

She gladly hops up beside her, setting the journal down beside her and swinging her feet a little as she eats.]

When I moved to L.A., I definitely didn't expect to see so many places to get fries. Especially on the boardwalk! It's like every step you take, there's a place that sells 'em.

[ She sounds fascinated by this, but she's a small-town girl so... it's a big deal to her. ]

Ever had them covered in cheese?

[ineptus]

L.A.? Like Los Angeles? [Sorry, she's far more interested in that than the fries or the cheese at the moment. She'll get to those...]

Yeah! I'm from Mulberry, but I moved to L.A. a little over year ago when I first discovered the Misfits.

[ineptus]

Dipper and I live in California! We've visited L.A.! We're only five hours away from it, in fact!

[Hell yes California girls.]

[fanbase]

Small world.

[ She grins, glad that there's other things to converse about now. It's nice to see Mabel somewhat happier, at least. ]

It's the best place I've been to, without a doubt! The people, the music scene, the movie sets, everything. There's nothing else like it.

[ineptus]

I really wish we could visit L.A. more. It was always fun when we got to go there together! We'd go out and eat and then we'd go see all the sights. It was fun visiting Little Tokyo and all the bright shops there! And I really enjoyed it when we got to ride the train!

[fanbase]

It is a pretty great place, I miss it already. There's always a lot of stuff to do, but hey! Uh...

[ She pauses to take a bite, but there's some hesitance in what she's about to say next. ]

When we get out of here, I can get you free tickets to the next Misfits show in L.A.? That way you'd have an excuse to visit and... [ She shrugs, looking down at her hot dog. Clash has never felt like the big sister type... because she's never had a sibling to feel that with. The closest thing she has to that is with the Misfits, so she figures that what she's offering is good enough. ] It'd just be cool to see you safe.

...I don't need an excuse to visit you, you know. I'd want to visit you anyway!

Really...?

Uh, I mean yeah — of course, who wouldn't? It's not like either of us need to meet up at a concert to know how to have fun.
