dreamland day three 34 players remaining. There are no clocks in your dorm room to help you mark the passing of time, but at a certain point, in the early hours of the morning, a cheerful chime tune plays over the loudspeaker. Whether you're awake or asleep, the door to your dorm room is now unlocked. You'll have about a forty five minutes, in which you can get ready or grab some breakfast, before the door that allows you into the park unlocks. By this time, you may or may not have noticed that one of your number is missing. The chimes play again, to announce that the park is open, and the rides and music begin to come back to life as a voice plays over the loudspeaker. "Rise and shine! Let's have a lot of fun and look for the bodies, too!" You will have until 4 PM to explore the park and talk amongst yourselves. [While Peko wouldn't be met with violence, she's right in assuming it's probably better she try not to pull her away. Though she does let go on her own, holding Dipper's hand instead as she wipes furiously at her eyes before looking up at Peko.

But...instead of saying anything, all she can manage to do is start crying again. There's a nod though, so at least she acknowledges and accepts the offer of help.]

[Oh no Mabel no.

Peko what do you have in your pockets. In the future you use your necktie for Ciel's tears. Clearly she did not anticipate having so many children's tears to dry. Howcouldthishappentome.mp3

Peko has literally nothing in her pockets, as Kurapika proved the other day. But she does have that red cloth badge around her arm, which she undoes and folds up, pressing it into Mabel's free hand. It's like a handkerchief.]

[There's no helping it really. They're twins. Mabel expected to wake up and investigate whatever new murder happened to be there with Dipper, and now she's left alone to investigate his death instead.

She looks at the red band for a moment before using it as silently suggested, wiping her eyes.]

I-I'm s-s-sorry.

[perfectstrike]

You have nothing to apologize for.

[She sounds oddly fierce at that, letting her hand touch Mabel's shoulder again to squeeze tightly, trying to prompt the younger girl to meet her eyes.]

You are strong. You will solve this.

[ineptus]

[It works, as she does look up at her at that and the fierce statement. And when Peko says she's strong and that she'll figure it out? At first she looks down again, looking like she's going to cry once more. But instead she nods, clutching to the red band tighter and furrowing her brows a little.]

...y-yeah. I w-will. I've investigated tons of things with D-Dipper I'm...I'm sure I can do this.

[perfectstrike]

I know you can.

[Peko's just. Kind of at a loss here. She's still reeling from Kuzuryuu's death -- it's actually kind of obvious that Peko didn't sleep at all that night, if the dark bags under her eyes are any indication -- but she doesn't want Mabel incapacitated by this. Not when Dipper's (and Kuzuryuu's) murderers are still walking around, completely fine.

So she reaches to gently take the armband out of Mabel's hands and pin it around her left sleeve. Mabel's arms are probably considerably smaller than Peko's beefy swordsman ones, so she has to wrap it tighter. But here you go. You be the leader, Mabel.]

[She let's go of the arm band, a little confused when it's wrapped around her arm at first, looking up at her questioningly at first. But...even though she doesn't quite understand what it means, she gets it's supposed to be an important gesture.]

Th-thank you.

[perfectstrike]

[Peko just nods, squeezing Mabel's shoulder before pushing herself to her feet.]

We'll work together to solve this. No one can stand in your way.

[She taps the now-empty spot on her arm.]

Return that to me after the murderer hangs.

[Peko... Peko you shouldn't be encouraging a little kid that voting and executing people is the right thing to do...]

[Peko you're a bad influence...

But she nods resolutely, putting on a much more determined face.]

Right! [She turns to her brother's body, letting go of his hand finally. Before doing anything, the body gets one more hug, and then she takes his hat.]

Sorry Dipper...but I need to borrow your stuff for now, okay?

[She puts the hat on her head, standing up and placing her hands on her hips with a deep breath.]

Okay...just gotta investigate this. I'm sure the clues will point to someone!

[perfectstrike]

Good.

[Peko nods again, turning her full attention to the body for the first time. She isn't going to lie to Mabel and tell her that she'll be fine, or even that it's alright, but,]

You can do this.

[ineptus]

I can do this! [With that in mind, she takes a deep breath and starts looking the body over.]

He...he was shot in the head. Th-that much is obvious. And it looks like he was only shot once...there aren't any other bullet holes from what I'm seeing...

[She takes off his vest, setting it aside, so that she can see if there are any like...wounds in his back hidden by it or something.]

Or any other wounds for that matter...

I agree.

[Peko stays close to her, looking over the body as Mabel does, helping her remove the vest if it looks like she needs it. But as with Kuzuryuu, there's... not much in the way of evidence to be found. Peko never thought she would miss anything about the island, but what she wouldn't give for a Monokuma File about each of these deaths.]

Which means that whoever did this has at least practiced with firearms, enough not to miss or need to fire more than once.

[ineptus]

Yeah. [Rubbing her chin, she walks around to the train car behind Dipper, trying to see what the bullet wound looks like from back there.]

Hmm...I wish we knew what kind of gun it was...can you tell that from wounds? Or do you have to have the gun to know...?
