dreamland day one

41 players remaining.

[As the day wears on into the afternoon, the dead aren't getting any deader. It's late in the afternoon, and the air is beginning to cool, when the chimes play again over the park loudspeaker.
"All of us here at Dreamland wish you luck, guests! Let's meet up in the Hall of Mirrors!"

Wherever you are, it's time to make your way over to the House of Horrors, where you'll have to brave the funhouse to find the room on the top floor. Don't delay, or your guest identification bracelet will begin beeping. The House of Mirrors is a large room, more than capable of fitting a crowd. Tall mirrors line every wall, and the door you entered through seems to vanish into a mirror as well. The mirrors give the impression that many, many more are among your number, standing in the background.

In the back is a jar filled with blank raffle tickets. You'll have to take a ticket, write down a name, and place it back in the jar. Hopefully you already know who you're voting for, but if not, you only have time for a brief discussion before you're out of time.

Hm? I'm afraid I don't follow. How exactly is he suspicious?

He's just some kind of mobile computer, isn't he?
glasshole: (curious | actually)

[Or some guy in a robot suit.]

Putting that aside, how does it make him suspicious exactly?
chainjailer: (stern pout)

If he's a computer, then whatever we see is just some sort of program written to appear sentient.

For all we know, he was programmed to be a VIP. I just don't trust him, but that being said... This note isn't enough proof for me. There's the risk he's innocent, as well as paired up with someone else. I won't kill anyone over speculation.

And that is the problem. We have no proof either way to ascertain whether he is VIP. We cannot exactly trust his word...we cannot exactly trust anyone's word. It is very, very, very...uncomfortable, the situation, but choosing anyone, right now, logically, would be like...how does the saying go? "Shooting fish in a barrel"?

What I mean to say is that...voting now, either for Legion or otherwise, is very risky. But then again, if we do not vote, the VIPs convert someone to be one of their own...

Exactly... [He makes a small and frustrated noise.] But it's doubtful we'll get anymore useful clues later, either. We can't just wait for things to add up on their own, because by then the VIPS will already have converted too many.

We'll have to observe each other--all of us--for odd behavior. Legion is our only suspect now, so we should keep a careful eye on him.

I think we're in disagreement, then. From what I've seen, he's been quite helpful and reasonable in quite disorienting circumstances. You're not wrong that he could be a VIP, but there hasn't been anything to make me suspect him.

I don't disagree that he's been helpful, but hasn't everyone? It would be more suspicious if someone wasn't.

I just think we should be keeping an eye on him in the future.

If you're volunteering...

I'll observe him as I would anyone else.
