dreamland day one

41 players remaining.

[As the day wears on into the afternoon, the dead aren't getting any deader. It's late in the afternoon, and the air is beginning to cool, when the chimes play again over the park loudspeaker.
"All of us here at Dreamland wish you luck, guests! Let's meet up in the Hall of Mirrors!"

Wherever you are, it's time to make your way over to the House of Horrors, where you'll have to brave the funhouse to find the room on the top floor. Don't delay, or your guest identification bracelet will begin beeping. The House of Mirrors is a large room, more than capable of fitting a crowd. Tall mirrors line every wall, and the door you entered through seems to vanish into a mirror as well. The mirrors give the impression that many, many more are among your number, standing in the background.

In the back is a jar filled with blank raffle tickets. You'll have to take a ticket, write down a name, and place it back in the jar. Hopefully you already know who you're voting for, but if not, you only have time for a brief discussion before you're out of time.

But with just a note? I don't know, that seems really fishy to me. I find it hard to believe that's the only way the detective can let us know.

Understand I'm merely trying to consider the possibilities. I think there's a lot of reason to discount the note.

But yes. At least, if I were the detective, I would be thinking of how to share my information without putting myself at risk. If my first result was someone innocent, I could convey messages to that person. But if my first result was guilty, I would need to share it and would have no one to trust. Anyone I chose to share my information with might wind up with a target on their back. Wouldn't it make sense to give the information to the person who had already volunteered to publish notes of that sort?

It still doesn't make it look legitimate though. Maybe they had to think of an idea before they ran out of time, but even now... nobody seems like they want to believe Legion is a VIP. Which means either the detective didn't try hard enough or one of the VIPs are trying to make us look bad, maybe even the Detonator if we wanna go that far.

I don't think submitting to the newspaper is a good option, they should probably think of something better that really makes us know it's them without giving themselves away.

The detective certainly didn't do well at conveying their information, but...I think it's a mistake to presume that because it wasn't handled well, then it couldn't be real. In fact, if the detective was quite reluctant to reveal themselves, I'm hesitant to think of another way to go about it.

Depending on who it is, they're probably either really inexperienced or they just went with the first idea they thought of, which backfired on them completely. It might be the truth for all we know, but there's not really anything more substantial to make us really believe it.

No, no, I agree. The risk of executing an innocent man is just too high. We mustn't fall into mob hysterics.
