dreamland day one 41 players remaining. There are no clocks in your dorm room to help you mark the passing of time, but at a certain point, in the early hours of the morning, a cheerful chime tune plays over the loudspeaker. Whether you're awake or asleep, the door to your dorm room is now unlocked. You'll have about a forty five minutes, in which you can get ready or grab some breakfast, before the door that allows you into the park unlocks. By this time, you may or may not have noticed that one of your number is missing. The chimes play again, to announce that the park is open, and the rides and music begin to come back to life as a voice plays over the loudspeaker. "Looks like it's time to get started after all! To all our guests, have a magical morning! Dream big and have fun, but don't forget to look for the body! We'll see you in the afternoon at the Hall of Mirrors when it's time to vote, okay?" You will have until 4 PM to explore the park and talk amongst yourselves. If we move quickly or use something to pull him over, I think we'll be fine. We can't just leave him there.

And do what with it? Examine it? It's obvious he got blown up by the bracelet, from getting too close to the fence.

That, but he deserves a proper burial too.

If we bother with that, we'll need a whole graveyard eventually. Who's gonna want to be an undertaker here?

[chainjailer]

[Without any hesitation.] If no one else wants to do it, then I will.

[Levi approaches after overhearing that last bit. He's carrying a blanket over his shoulder.]

We can do it together. I'll carry the body.

[chainjailer]

[Kurapika nods, taking a few steps closer to the body.]

Then we just need to collect it fast enough to not set off our own bracelets.

[ I still feel sick. But now more than ever, we can't sit around anymore.

Looks like the guy who's a soldier - Levi, I think? Is already going to help with Kurapika, but I might as well volunteer too, in any case. ]

I can help with that too, if you can still use it.

[chainjailer]

[Kurapika casts Sigma a glance, nodding his head once more.]

I don't have a shovel, so we can use the help. [As for what he's actually going to dig with...? It's a mystery. Hopefully they can pick something up along the way.]

Maybe there's something in the mess hall. Anywhere else you think we can find digging tools?

[ My knuckles are probably ivory white in my pocket, but what else can I do? ]

I'll figure something out.

[In other words, he really doesn't know what he's going to do. At Sigma's mumbling, Kurapika tightens his jaw and shakes his head.]

That's the nature of the game, isn't it? Until we can figure out how to stop it... [This will happen.]

Nature's bullshit.

[ I gritted through my teeth, tearing my eyes away from the mangled body. ]

People don't just kill because it's in their nature. And even if they had to, there's nothing natural about what that man had to experience!

[chainjailer]

There are people who do... [He clenches his fists, and they shake noticeably as his shoulders tense. His eyes seem to light up, turning scarlet, but Kurapika makes an effort to keep them out of sight. Of course he'd lost his contacts when he came here...]

People who enjoy it. Don't let looks deceive you, scum come in all shapes and sizes.

I know there are killers out there, that's not what I'm saying. There has to be a reason to it, something that got them started. People aren't just born murderers, even if later in their lives, they begin to do terrible things to other people.

[chainjailer]

If there's a reason, it doesn't matter now. If they win, the rest of us might end up dead!

[siggey]

[ I frown. ]

It does. If there's something worth killing one person per night for, and this gruesomely too, I want to know what from the culprits themselves.

[ Shoving my hands back into my pockets, I turn away. ]

Anyway, I'm going to go look for some digging tools. We have work to do.

[chainjailer]

Oh, I want to know--but that doesn't mean it's going to change anything. There's 42 people here, and you're telling me they plan to kill off nearly 30 of them?

That's a massacre. There's no excuse.

[...But Kurapika agrees. They need to find tools, and so he drops it, attempting to contain his contempt in favour of doing what needs to be done.]

[Sad to say, but Levi has retrieved corpses in trickier circumstances than this. He uses the blanket like a coat over his arms and chest.]

I know. Stand back.

[Fortunately, Levi is fast. He reaches the body in seconds, and wastes no time scooping it up. His bracelet gives a few urgent beeps during the process, but he manages to hustle back to Kurapika's side unscathed. Once he knows he's safe, Levi covers Malik's chest and face with the blanket.]

Where should we take it?

[Kurapika watches a bit anxiously, but Levi comes back without any injury so he releases the breath he'd been holding. He's glad teh other man thought of bringing a blanket, because his stomach had been churning at the sight.]

There's no real ideal place, but if I had to pick... I'd say the lake. At least it's away from everything else.
