dreamland day one

41 players remaining.

There are no clocks in your dorm room to help you mark the passing of time, but at a certain point, in the early hours of the morning, a cheerful chime tune plays over the loudspeaker. Whether you're awake or asleep, the door to your dorm room is now unlocked. You'll have about a forty five minutes, in which you can get ready or grab some breakfast, before the door that allows you into the park unlocks. By this time, you may or may not have noticed that one of your number is missing.

The chimes play again, to announce that the park is open, and the rides and music begin to come back to life as a voice plays over the loudspeaker.

"Looks like it's time to get started after all! To all our guests, have a magical morning! Dream big and have fun, but don't forget to look for the body! We'll see you in the afternoon at the Hall of Mirrors when it's time to vote, okay?"

You will have until 4 PM to explore the park and talk amongst yourselves. Somewhere in the park, you'll find the body of Malik Ishtar.

Not if he slipped away right as everyone was being locked up.

[It's not very likely, though, true...]

But what I mean... is that the crime of murder is punishable by death in any realm. If this is the choice our VIPs have made, then they must be prepared for the consequences. I won't rest until justice is served.

You're going to start killing, too? [ He hasn't really thought about the whole voting to execute thing. ] Do you even have a sword with you?

...What?

I didn't mean personally. What kind of person do you think I am?

[ There are a few moments of silence like maybe he thinks she's joking. ]

Oh. Well, in my realm, there are courts that deal with murder and everything, so we should really just leave it at that.

...Did you forget the part where we are required to act as judge and jury?

I would never choose to vote when the guilt is uncertain. But if one of these VIPs is to be discovered, I have no qualms about allowing them to reap the consequences of their actions.

But I don't want to be an executioner, too! I study Greek, not law. [ Like this is supposed to make any sense. ] How are we supposed to find these people? We can't trust anyone, apparently.

We have to have faith that the white will always shine brighter than the black!

[so... fairy dust]

And I'm not going to start thinking you're all potential killers, either. Not until anyone gives me cause to believe otherwise. ...We have to remember, too, that the goal here is not to participate in this game as they wish - it's to destroy those who created it and to return to our homes.

But then the white drowns people out. We should go for a contrast. [ He's just talking about clothes. ]

It's not like we really know each other, right? Anyone is a potential killer.

You can't ever have too much white. 'Too much of a good thing' only applies to people too weak to handle it.

[She's talking about sugar.]

That's true... which is why we need to change that as soon as we can. The only way we'll be able to identify our killers is by really getting to know each other... and then spotting inconsistencies.
