dreamland day one

41 players remaining.

There are no clocks in your dorm room to help you mark the passing of time, but at a certain point, in the early hours of the morning, a cheerful chime tune plays over the loudspeaker. Whether you're awake or asleep, the door to your dorm room is now unlocked. You'll have about a forty five minutes, in which you can get ready or grab some breakfast, before the door that allows you into the park unlocks. By this time, you may or may not have noticed that one of your number is missing.

The chimes play again, to announce that the park is open, and the rides and music begin to come back to life as a voice plays over the loudspeaker.

"Looks like it's time to get started after all! To all our guests, have a magical morning! Dream big and have fun, but don't forget to look for the body! We'll see you in the afternoon at the Hall of Mirrors when it's time to vote, okay?"

You will have until 4 PM to explore the park and talk amongst yourselves. Somewhere in the park, you'll find the body of Malik Ishtar.

I don't care. This is nothing.

[He totally picks the body up later to bury with Levi and Sigma, so yeah he did the thing.]

Christ. [ More exasperated than anything at this point. ] Well, please, bury him far, far away.

I'll bury him in the most restful place I can find, and nothing less.

[ That seems fair, at least. He lightens up. ] I hope your friend appreciates it.

I didn't know him. [He says flatly.] But I hope it'll give him some peace.

[ A sort of blank stare, trying to resist saying then why do you care so much. ]

The Greeks had a system like that. They didn't care if it was one of them or an enemy—truces were made in war to bury the dead. Maybe you'll appease someone who'll let us go.

I don't know anything about a culture called the Greeks, but their philosophy doesn't sound unlike mine in that respect.

[In fewer words, Kurapika will bury the dead regardless of affiliation.]

We could only be so hopeful that burying Ishtar would be our last in this place.

[ These delusional people who don't know the Greeks, yet another Exasperated Stare. ] I'm afraid I can't help out—weak back and all—but good luck.

[Kurapika just returns with a rather bland stare of his own. He didn't care if the other man chose to help or not.]

Right. [He'll go back to the body then.]
