![]() There are no clocks in your dorm room to help you mark the passing of time, but at a certain point, in the early hours of the morning, a cheerful chime tune plays over the loudspeaker. Whether you're awake or asleep, the door to your dorm room is now unlocked. You'll have about a forty five minutes, in which you can get ready or grab some breakfast, before the door that allows you into the park unlocks. By this time, you may or may not have noticed that one of your number is missing. The chimes play again, to announce that the park is open, and the rides and music begin to come back to life as a voice plays over the loudspeaker. "Rise and shine! Let's have a lot of fun today, or at least all of you who are left!" You will have until 4 PM to explore the park and talk amongst yourselves. Somewhere in the park, you'll find the body of Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu. character statuses private conversations graveyard Voting will close at 10 PM EST on September 27. Though a special comment for discussion will go up shortly before voting, you are encouraged to discuss who to vote for throughout the day. |
Carnival
And so, he's set himself up in front of the carnival game that he thinks will be the easiest for him: the test your strength game. Comically huge mallet in hand, he swings it down on the pivot board to try and ring the bell.
Ding! Huge success. With an idle nod, he decides he can do this for a while.]

Whomp.
Whomp.
Whomp.
Ding-ding-ding-ding!
......There has to be something else we can do.
no subject
Probably.
[But Mori is just getting started, unlike her. So he takes another swing, making more tickets pop out. It might as well be a ticket pinata.
Of course, since his game doesn't take much concentration, he doesn't mind turning a listening ear toward the young woman.]

I'm used to facing my enemies directly. ...It's never been like this before.
[This is punctuated by a SMASH as Edea misses entirely and bashes the counter.]

[That's right - she was supposed to be proficient with swordplay. He can understand what she's saying. Even though he's not a soldier by any means, he's still trained with a sword. Actually, he's a bit curious about her combat skill... He's never met any girls that were into that, but there are quite a few here.]
What made you take up the sword?
no subject
[That was an abrupt change in topic. Edea blinks for a moment before shaking her head.]
It was not a decision I remember making. From the time I was very young, I knew what my future would hold - I would take up my Father's position when I grew to be of age.
no subject
I see.
I don't think you look stupid.
[He takes another swing. They're all doing the best they can think of, even if it isn't... much. Anyway, he's not sure what more they can do in the middle of the day.]
no subject
Oh - this?
Well, I've definitely done... stupider in the past. I guess dignity's not so important compared to what's at stake...

[ Honey is...not trying to win tickets at the moment, but has some cotton candy, instead.
Helpful... ]

Hm...do you think the prizes are going to get any different as we go along?
[ Like: of actual use? ]
no subject
[The prize machine seems a bit random.... maybe they just have to put more tickets in at once. Though he can't say he's entirely familiar with how carnivals work. He also has his doubts over how useful the things they get could be.]

Or something.]
Any luck?

Keep trying.
[He's curious now. Don't give up!]
no subject
[He gets back to clawing with newfound determination!!
...That having been said, his technique has not improved in the least.]
no subject
But what the hell. He soon wanders over to hang out quietly next to him. For. Moral support? Good luck? Who even knows. But he's observing. Which is something he's pretty good at. Maybe he'll figure something out.]

Wow! You must be really strong!

The results of my training.

But the ding of huge success catches her attention. ]
My, you certainly picked the right game. [ There's only a faint smile because getting tickets seems to pale in comparison to finding yet another corpse. ]
no subject
So did you.
[yes, yes, they are both very awesome at carnival games and ticket collecting]

I am a master of Lanvaldear-style archery, after all. [ She says as if that's supposed to mean anything... ] I've been practicing my aim on moving targets since I was a child. Something like this is nothing.
[ SO MODEST TOO ]
no subject
Impressive.
[DING!
Though, it's true that the first bit didn't really mean anything. JRPG characters, man. After a moment, he decides to ask.]
... Lanvaldear?
no subject
Yes. Lanvaldear was once its own independent nation before it unified with Kimlasca through the marriage of its royal families.
As the princess and heir of Kimlasca-Lanvaldear, it was only appropriate that I be trained in the Lanvaldear style.
[ She is dang proud of her skills and her country okay... ]
