dreamland day six

20 players remaining.

[As the day wears on into the afternoon, the dead aren't getting any deader. It's late in the afternoon, and the air is beginning to cool, when the chimes play again over the park loudspeaker.
"All of us here at Dreamland wish you luck, guests! Let's meet up in the Hall of Mirrors!"

Wherever you are, it's time to make your way over to the House of Horrors, where you'll have to brave the funhouse to find the room on the top floor. Don't delay, or your guest identification bracelet will begin beeping. The House of Mirrors is a large room, more than capable of fitting a crowd. Tall mirrors line every wall, and the door you entered through seems to vanish into a mirror as well. The mirrors give the impression that many, many more are among your number, standing in the background.

In the back is a jar filled with blank raffle tickets. You'll have to take a ticket, write down a name, and place it back in the jar. Hopefully you already know who you're voting for, but if not, you only have time for a brief discussion before you're out of time.

If we're talking about 'personalities least likely to kill', we need to think about the ditzy types. And she was the one who pushed hardest for Ibuki's innocence. Either she's a sap or she's suspicious.

Um... I think that's just the sort of person Maya is, honestly. She sounded like she cared more about making sure everyone who was accused had a defense, you know? A good defense is important to her.

I don't think we need to worry about her.

I agree. And... I think that after what happened to Francis and Nui, the VIPs wouldn't want to risk looking suspicious by trying to defend someone that they know is guilty.

Like I said, she's either a sap or suspicious. I think it's worth finding out which.

That's exactly the sort of gamble we made earlier.

I don't mean vote for her. [She meant as an investigation target, gosh]

[SPECIFY THESE THINGS, FUTURE DEAD WIFE!!!]

If she's suspicious enough, Missile or the cops will probably check her, right?

[Her question was "was Maya cleared", moneybag-- er, future husband!]

That's what I asked.

...

In fact, I do not believe Royce spoke up for Edea or Mioda, and I do not believe Mioda spoke up for Edea.

That may be a more useful pattern.

...Prioritizing not standing out over making sure that the other VIPs wouldn't be executed, right?

[He doesn't sound too surprised, though.]
godwhisperer: (pic#6600504)

[personal profile] godwhisperer 2014-10-08 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Indeed. A sound strategy. Those who defended Mioda and Edea fiercely are as unlikely to be VIP as those who led the case for their demise.
royalizing: (what was that?)

[personal profile] royalizing 2014-10-08 09:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Then you believe it's those who haven't spoken much during the trials who may be VIP?

Then, if we're looking at Patchouli...

She has been very quiet.
royalizing: (eh?)

[personal profile] royalizing 2014-10-08 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
That's true...

If they're purposely staying quiet during the trials, then that would mean they do remember. But Edea and Ibuki both seemed so certain they weren't VIPs.
harepiece: (didn't sleep last night)

[personal profile] harepiece 2014-10-08 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
So by your reasoning, the people who are most suspicious are the ones who have agreed, but not too loudly.

I believe so. They have nothing to lose by allowing us to vote no one, but they cannot take it too far.
harepiece: (valleys like snow)

[personal profile] harepiece 2014-10-08 10:14 pm (UTC)(link)
It would fit in with what we've seen so far. Even Royce... He said that he would vote for no one, but he chose not to in the end.

[Which Oz is feeling PERSONALLY CHAFED ABOUT since he had literally been talking to Royce the trial before about what to do and what the killers are doing and why this is all happening.]

That's... you're right! None of the other VIPs have stood up for one another. It'd be suspicious for them too and would easily give them away. K said that even Edea sounded like she thought she didn't do it and thought that she did, so there's gotta be some knowledge of them knowing who the other VIPs are.
godwhisperer: (pic#6010284)

[personal profile] godwhisperer 2014-10-08 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. Or perhaps they truly don't remember, and none would have thought to stand up for the others.

So... we're looking for people who haven't been vocal about it?

[ She looks over at where Simon stands, wondering if that's true. ]
royalizing: (luke wtf)

[personal profile] royalizing 2014-10-08 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
But she never really tried to put up a defense for anyone before Ibuki.
uncoincidental: (045)

[personal profile] uncoincidental 2014-10-08 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but... You have to look at the timing, too. It followed on the heels of executing someone who was innocent because we thought their buddy was a VIP, as we didn't listen to a word of defense for either of them.
