![]() [You wake up in a temporary barracks set up behind an amusement park. The weather is chilly but pleasant, and there aren't any lines for the rides - in fact, it seems you have this place to yourself. The entire park appears to have been abandoned some years ago, and though everything is in working order, it is overgrown with plants and seems rusted and unsafe. As for you, something has happened, though you aren't sure what. There's a throbbing pain in your head, and you can't focus, as though you're coming off heavy pain medications. However you think you should look, you look like a human now. Under the bandages wrapped around your temple, old and smelling like blood, you'll find a recently stitched up scar wound and the inability to focus on your memories. You have no knowledge of how you came to be here; you may even have forgotten certain aspects of your life, or feel confused about them. The fact of your missing memories is obvious, a dark blank spot. Under the bandages around your wrist, you'll find a brightly colored bracelet, decorated with the face of the smiling cartoon animal on your wall, embedded into your flesh. It beeps a merry tune and welcomes you to DreamLand Fun Park. Just then, a voice comes over the loudspeaker.] "Good morning to all of our new guests! The park is now open! We'll get started later, but for now, have a magical day with your new friends! Oh, and there may be a few nasty side effects to your medical condition. If you meet someone having trouble adjusting to reality, please be polite!" [In your room, you'll find a small box containing several personal items - no weapons, magical items, or technology advanced beyond the early 21st century, and nothing dangerous, but otherwise anything you would ordinarily find on your person is there. Of course, nothing with cell reception or internet connectivity can manage to pick up a signal. If you swipe your bracelet against the steel door, it unlocks. You may now explore your accommodations, or venture out into the park.] character statuses setting This is an IC mingle covering the first day! Night roles will go up Monday at 4 PM EST, but you are welcome to continue to thread here once that happens. Make sure to follow any updates on plurk! |
Dipper Pines // All around!
[Waking up with a throbbing headache, in a place Dipper wasn't familiar with was definitely the last thing the boy wanted, and once he realized the situation, he started to panic. He looked around the room for any clues or indications of what happened, and he found a box. He opened it and immediately he snatched his hat and vest, placing the cap on his head and slipping his vest on almost simultaneously. He takes his journal and pocket-sized blacklight and puts them under his vest and after a few more minutes of fumbling around the room, he finally figures out how to unlock his door and goes about his way.
Once he was outside, he starts wandering around the central area of the amusement park, making mental notes as he passes by the few attractions. And if he happens to walk by someone, he approaches them with a few questions in mind.]
Um, hi. Have you seen a girl who looks almost exactly like me, but with long brown hair and braces? She should be wearing a goofy sweater, headband and skirt, and her name is Mabel Pines... [He figures if he was in a place like this with no memory of how he got here or anything, his twin was most likely here herself. It's just kind of a weird thing he'd expect to happen to the two... sort of.]
b.) Eastern area, with the metal cage ride(?)
[After a little while, after the twins finally reunited, they split up knowing they'd most likely be alright on their own. Mabel, leaving to go check out more of the rides while Dipper explored and tried to make more sense of the situation. He wanted to figure out where they were, and why they were there. It was a mystery just begging to be solved!
And upon his investigations he came across this... ride.... thing... though it looked more like a metal death trap than a ride for kids and adults of all ages. He stood in front of it, a hand placed to his chin, as he tried thinking of what the purpose of it even was.
He was going to spend quite some time here, if you'd like to bug him and inquire about what these cages were for.]
c.) Wherever you'd like!
[If none of the options above are interesting prompts, don't worry because Dipper will be wandering around the entire place as he conducts his small investigation! So your character could bump into him inspecting rides or food or anything really.]
A
[That question nets you a stare, Dipper. Royce stares for what seems a few seconds too long, his face expressionless...and then he shrugs as he speak with his slow, weary, voice:]
I don't thiiiink I have. Haven't seen anyone like that. [A pause.] Who is she...to you?
no subject
She's my sister... twin sister, in fact. I was hoping if I got thrown into a situation as weird as this, she would have too.
no subject
...Your twin? That's...well, perhaps you should keep looking? It is a big place, a very big place. She might be here, somewhere.
no subject
..She's kind of hard to ignore, too. If someone saw her, they'd know just from a small description.
no subject
[He says, with a nod, before he folds his arms and thinks for a few seconds, speaking up again:]
You said...you said that you and your sister got involved in weird things. What kind of weird things?

Have you been in a place like this before...?
no subject
Are you like, collecting information for a survey or something...? [Not meant to be taken rude! Just the questions you're asking seem like you might be..]
no subject
[He falls into a silence, gesturing vaguely with a thin hand at their surroundings before he retracts it back to his folded arms.]
I just...thought you might have some answers to what's going on. But it seems, well, it seems we are all in the same boat. At least, those I've asked...
no subject
I wish I could tell you more, man. [He felt bad, because usually he'd be all over something like this. He'd probably at least know what state or country they were in by now..]
...uh in any case, my name's Dipper! I guess introducing myself is better late than never?
no subject
Dipper. I'll...remember that. I'm Royce. Royce Bracket. A pleasure.
no subject
So.. are weird situations like this normal for you? [He's a little curious! Royce seems kind of like someone who knows what to do in a time like this, so it's got Dipper intrigued.
He may or may not have the impression that Royce is some cool detective]no subject
Ah, well...if you are asking if I've been transported to a another place without, well, without my knowledge. Erm. No. But I do...I do work with unique sorts of problems back home. I mean, I was certainly the first one to encounter them. [He frowns.] But...that's over. That's over now.

[ Yes. Yes, it does.
Ibuki has no idea what the hell it is, but... ]
It just screams "I'm important to the plot"!!!
no subject
Hahah, yeah... it's definitely unique for an amusement park. I don't even know if it's supposed to be a ride or like... a jail or something...
no subject
[ nooooooooooo ]
no subject
You don't think they'd.. have something like that here, do you?
no subject
[ too long on jabberwock island HAHA ]

B.
[Suddenly this shady character is just kind of standing nearby, talking to himself?]
Well, child of man? Are you going to go in there? Of course, the last one who entered a portal to the vestibule saw such visions that they say his mind was destroyed. He spent the remainder of his life a wanderer, lamenting his fate in tongues no mortal has spoken in a thousand years.
So even if you're feeling bold today, you might want to give your last confessions!

Are you... talking to me...?
