42 players remaining.

[You wake up in a temporary barracks set up behind an amusement park. The weather is chilly but pleasant, and there aren't any lines for the rides - in fact, it seems you have this place to yourself. The entire park appears to have been abandoned some years ago, and though everything is in working order, it is overgrown with plants and seems rusted and unsafe.

As for you, something has happened, though you aren't sure what. There's a throbbing pain in your head, and you can't focus, as though you're coming off heavy pain medications. However you think you should look, you look like a human now. Under the bandages wrapped around your temple, old and smelling like blood, you'll find a recently stitched up scar wound and the inability to focus on your memories. You have no knowledge of how you came to be here; you may even have forgotten certain aspects of your life, or feel confused about them. The fact of your missing memories is obvious, a dark blank spot. Under the bandages around your wrist, you'll find a brightly colored bracelet, decorated with the face of the smiling cartoon animal on your wall, embedded into your flesh. It beeps a merry tune and welcomes you to DreamLand Fun Park. Just then, a voice comes over the loudspeaker.]

"Good morning to all of our new guests! The park is now open! We'll get started later, but for now, have a magical day with your new friends! Oh, and there may be a few nasty side effects to your medical condition. If you meet someone having trouble adjusting to reality, please be polite!"

[In your room, you'll find a small box containing several personal items - no weapons, magical items, or technology advanced beyond the early 21st century, and nothing dangerous, but otherwise anything you would ordinarily find on your person is there. Of course, nothing with cell reception or internet connectivity can manage to pick up a signal.

If you swipe your bracelet against the steel door, it unlocks. You may now explore your accommodations, or venture out into the park.]

It's been awhile since anyone's called me "Miss"... just Sheba is fine.

[Wow, what sort of rude jerks have you been hanging out with, Sheba...]

Anyway, it's nice to meet you! [She settles herself in the teacup and looks at the little spinny wheel in the center (god what is that thing even called) curiously. She puts both hands on it and drums her fingers on it.] We're supposed to do something with this... probably.

["Probably."]

[Yeah he's kind of surprised to hear that. WHO WOULDN'T ADDRESS SHEBA POLITELY?? Clearly she's traveling with a band of ruffians.]

Sheba, then. [A nod! AW YEAH they're practically friends already!!]

Oh— I saw someone get in and turn it a few times! But it didn't really do anything... Maybe something else needs to happen before it works?

[Like the ride actually starting! Which it seems to be doing very soon, if the door clicking into place with a firm lock is any indication...]

[Her life is so hard, being the captive of a scoundrel...

Her life is also hard because that sure was the sound of a lock clicking shut, and that is generally never a good sign where she comes from. If you're exploring monster-filled ruins, you don't want things to lock behind you! But it's not like they can't just jump out of the teacup if they need to, the look she shoots the door is only mildly alarmed.

Turning it, huh... she gives it a try, but it doesn't really do anything immediately. Well, that's boring. She's about to say so, even, but then there's a whirl of machinery and the ride starts to move...]

Oh! [She laughs, delighted. Okay, this could be fine. Time to give turning that wheel another try so they can spin in circles while spinning around too...!! They're definitely going to be so dizzy by the time this is finished.] Oz, you should help me turn this so we can go even faster!

["LET'S GO FASTER" because that never goes horribly wrong at all...

Oz is too busy at first looking around the area and watching the scenery start to spin by with some measure of curiosity. He should probably be more concerned with the fact that they are locked into a ricketyass ride that they'll need to jump out of if they want to escape, but no. Priorities!!

Once she addresses him, though, he'll turn to look at the wheel.]

Oh— So that's what that does! [And he'll just immediately set his hands on the wheel too because why not, livin on the edge.] Ready?
