![]() [You wake up in a temporary barracks set up behind an amusement park. The weather is chilly but pleasant, and there aren't any lines for the rides - in fact, it seems you have this place to yourself. The entire park appears to have been abandoned some years ago, and though everything is in working order, it is overgrown with plants and seems rusted and unsafe. As for you, something has happened, though you aren't sure what. There's a throbbing pain in your head, and you can't focus, as though you're coming off heavy pain medications. However you think you should look, you look like a human now. Under the bandages wrapped around your temple, old and smelling like blood, you'll find a recently stitched up scar wound and the inability to focus on your memories. You have no knowledge of how you came to be here; you may even have forgotten certain aspects of your life, or feel confused about them. The fact of your missing memories is obvious, a dark blank spot. Under the bandages around your wrist, you'll find a brightly colored bracelet, decorated with the face of the smiling cartoon animal on your wall, embedded into your flesh. It beeps a merry tune and welcomes you to DreamLand Fun Park. Just then, a voice comes over the loudspeaker.] "Good morning to all of our new guests! The park is now open! We'll get started later, but for now, have a magical day with your new friends! Oh, and there may be a few nasty side effects to your medical condition. If you meet someone having trouble adjusting to reality, please be polite!" [In your room, you'll find a small box containing several personal items - no weapons, magical items, or technology advanced beyond the early 21st century, and nothing dangerous, but otherwise anything you would ordinarily find on your person is there. Of course, nothing with cell reception or internet connectivity can manage to pick up a signal. If you swipe your bracelet against the steel door, it unlocks. You may now explore your accommodations, or venture out into the park.] character statuses setting This is an IC mingle covering the first day! Night roles will go up Monday at 4 PM EST, but you are welcome to continue to thread here once that happens. Make sure to follow any updates on plurk! |

...OW that was... more surprising than painful, but Missile yelps at the top of his considerable lungs anyway. ]

Ah! Forgive me! Now, where did you come from? What a good boy you are. Good boy! Hello!
no subject
He... smells like blood because everyone does and it's making him a little nervous, but what's that scent under it? It's an animal scent and kind of like rats but not really? This requires investigation. What is the best place to sniff. Hands? Face? Long purple thing? There are so many choices. (The answer is sniff everything he can get away with because that's how dogs work.) ]
no subject
Ah! Your nose is keen enough to sense the presence of my Dark Gods! Well done, you're a formidable hunter! Yes, you are!
no subject
...Hey. Are those things that aren't rats here? The scent's pretty strong, after all! MAYBE HE'LL HAVE SOMEONE TO PLAY WITH. ]
no subject
You're drawn to them, of course you are. Well, they are fierce and fear no canine.
no subject
...Yes, that's it! It's not a rat. It's not a squirrel. It's not a cat or a dog or a human or a bird. Missile is stumped! It doesn't smell afraid of either him or the long purple guy, and it's not running, so there's no need to chase it. It's in someone's hand, so there's no need to bark at it more than a token wuff; he knows it's there. He's watching Maga-G like a hawk, if hawks were mild and fluffy instead of intense and feathery. ]

[Letting him sniff a little bit longer and tucking it back in his scarf.]
Now, come. I will give you a treat if you follow! Yes, I will! Do you have a name, or a master?
no subject
Missile can understand enough to know what he's being asked to follow, and he's totally up for that! He's more of follow alongside dog than a follow behind dog. Or follow ahead, but where they're going is a bigger mystery than the animal that isn't a rat. As for the questions... it's not like he can answer them directly, but given how friendly he acts and how healthy and well-groomed he looks, the answer to both of them is likely a strong yes. ]

[Getting some treats from the food court! Tearing off a little hot dog piece and putting it on the ground for him.]
Now, Calamity. We shall see who you belong to.

MissileCalamityMissile snaffles up his reward with appreciation and gusto. Where to next, boss? ]no subject
Find your way home. Go on. This is no place for you...
no subject
...This place... this is the where he woke up! Maybe he missed something there? According to his nose... well, with so many people running around, it's impossible to tell who might have carried him in there in the first place, but he can tell which door he ran out of! He can't tell how it opens, though. Scratching doesn't seem to work, and there's no door handle to jump at. Doors, why are they such a pain. ]
no subject
Hmm, did they really fit you with one of these? Disgraceful. Then...is your master not here?
no subject
...That word again. "Master". Is he talking about Miss Kamila? Does he know Miss Kamila? They don't really have any scents in common - she doesn't smell like animals who aren't Missile and he doesn't smell like pastries and the stuff Miss Lynne puts on the clothes with water to make them smell like old flowers instead of sweat and other interesting things. Anyway, she isn't here. The most woeful of dog sighs. ]

It's all right. Good boy. Even if he is not present, I will see to you until the day you may return home.
[Punctuating that by bending down and scratching his ears.]
I, too, am far from home. But I swear all of my powers to your aid.

the bonds of blood eternalnah it's just dog spit. Dog spit and possibly some sausage residue. ]
