42 players remaining.

[You wake up in a temporary barracks set up behind an amusement park. The weather is chilly but pleasant, and there aren't any lines for the rides - in fact, it seems you have this place to yourself. The entire park appears to have been abandoned some years ago, and though everything is in working order, it is overgrown with plants and seems rusted and unsafe.

As for you, something has happened, though you aren't sure what. There's a throbbing pain in your head, and you can't focus, as though you're coming off heavy pain medications. However you think you should look, you look like a human now. Under the bandages wrapped around your temple, old and smelling like blood, you'll find a recently stitched up scar wound and the inability to focus on your memories. You have no knowledge of how you came to be here; you may even have forgotten certain aspects of your life, or feel confused about them. The fact of your missing memories is obvious, a dark blank spot. Under the bandages around your wrist, you'll find a brightly colored bracelet, decorated with the face of the smiling cartoon animal on your wall, embedded into your flesh. It beeps a merry tune and welcomes you to DreamLand Fun Park. Just then, a voice comes over the loudspeaker.]

"Good morning to all of our new guests! The park is now open! We'll get started later, but for now, have a magical day with your new friends! Oh, and there may be a few nasty side effects to your medical condition. If you meet someone having trouble adjusting to reality, please be polite!"

[In your room, you'll find a small box containing several personal items - no weapons, magical items, or technology advanced beyond the early 21st century, and nothing dangerous, but otherwise anything you would ordinarily find on your person is there. Of course, nothing with cell reception or internet connectivity can manage to pick up a signal.

If you swipe your bracelet against the steel door, it unlocks. You may now explore your accommodations, or venture out into the park.]

I'm not sure what the Valkyrie Asterisk is, exactly, but I have noticed certain powers of my own being missing.
edealistical: (Thoughtful)

It's a Job. I just mean I've lost all my powers, right. But mine were actually contained inside of some items, so I guess I'm not surprised...

Were yours inherent?
shoutoku_administrator: You're wong (And that's why I'm right)

[personal profile] shoutoku_administrator 2014-09-22 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
They were earned, not inherited, but it's still odd that they would disappear for any particular reason.
edealistical: (Serious)

There's all kinds of magic in the world. I'm sure there's a way to bind someone's abilities - I'm guessing you mean more than just something like a Silence spell.
shoutoku_administrator: (That was a long time ago)

[personal profile] shoutoku_administrator 2014-09-22 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
It's strange... I seem to have become a completely ordinary human.
edealistical: (Solemn)

[personal profile] edealistical 2014-09-22 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
Hmmm.... And what were you before, if you don't mind me asking?
shoutoku_administrator: (Positive thinking!)

[personal profile] shoutoku_administrator 2014-09-22 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
A saint, and a hermit.
edealistical: ((...))

[personal profile] edealistical 2014-09-22 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
...Wait, really?

A saint, as in, one of the holiest people to ever live kind of saint?
shoutoku_administrator: (Let's negotiate)

[personal profile] shoutoku_administrator 2014-09-22 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
Something along those lines, at least.

[personal profile] edealistical 2014-09-22 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
I've met a thousand year old sage-hermit before, but this is a first for me! It's an honor.

...I think.

You're not some sort of fossilized pervert, are you? The other one was.
shoutoku_administrator: (Wow uh okay)

[personal profile] shoutoku_administrator 2014-09-22 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't describe myself as such, no. One must give up such desires to become a hermit, after all.
edealistical: (Tease)

[personal profile] edealistical 2014-09-22 04:27 am (UTC)(link)
OK! Then honor restored!

How do you end up becoming a saint, anyway? Does the Orthodoxy - oh, sorry, your religion - take votes?
shoutoku_administrator: (Ohohohoho)

[personal profile] shoutoku_administrator 2014-09-22 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
The name of Saint was granted to me post-humously, based on my feats in life.

To anticipate your next question, it's a long story, which I will save for another time.
edealistical: ((...))

[personal profile] edealistical 2014-09-22 04:52 am (UTC)(link)
Post...humously...

[...]

Yes, that should probably wait. I'm going back to the fence now - I'll let you all know if I discover anything of interest.
