![]() [You wake up in a temporary barracks set up behind an amusement park. The weather is chilly but pleasant, and there aren't any lines for the rides - in fact, it seems you have this place to yourself. The entire park appears to have been abandoned some years ago, and though everything is in working order, it is overgrown with plants and seems rusted and unsafe. As for you, something has happened, though you aren't sure what. There's a throbbing pain in your head, and you can't focus, as though you're coming off heavy pain medications. However you think you should look, you look like a human now. Under the bandages wrapped around your temple, old and smelling like blood, you'll find a recently stitched up scar wound and the inability to focus on your memories. You have no knowledge of how you came to be here; you may even have forgotten certain aspects of your life, or feel confused about them. The fact of your missing memories is obvious, a dark blank spot. Under the bandages around your wrist, you'll find a brightly colored bracelet, decorated with the face of the smiling cartoon animal on your wall, embedded into your flesh. It beeps a merry tune and welcomes you to DreamLand Fun Park. Just then, a voice comes over the loudspeaker.] "Good morning to all of our new guests! The park is now open! We'll get started later, but for now, have a magical day with your new friends! Oh, and there may be a few nasty side effects to your medical condition. If you meet someone having trouble adjusting to reality, please be polite!" [In your room, you'll find a small box containing several personal items - no weapons, magical items, or technology advanced beyond the early 21st century, and nothing dangerous, but otherwise anything you would ordinarily find on your person is there. Of course, nothing with cell reception or internet connectivity can manage to pick up a signal. If you swipe your bracelet against the steel door, it unlocks. You may now explore your accommodations, or venture out into the park.] character statuses setting This is an IC mingle covering the first day! Night roles will go up Monday at 4 PM EST, but you are welcome to continue to thread here once that happens. Make sure to follow any updates on plurk! |

[She takes another bite of the sandwich and thinks it over as she chews and swallows.] They could be holding us for a ransom of some kind, or they could want us to do something for them. But if they want us to do them a favor, they should've just asked nicely. I'm not really in the mood to help them out after this.
[When she says this, she frowns and taps on the bracelet embedded into her skin with her free hand.]
I'm not sure where we are, either. I've never seen anything like this place before.

[ I glance back at my bracelet too. It's creepy and somewhat similiar, but I have no idea why. That bee is really tacky, though... This stings. ]
The translations on some of the information panels look really weird too. Is this your first time in an amusement park?

[It could be worse... he could have a snake bracelet. Then it would really bite.]
...yes, it's my first time. They don't have amusement parks where I come from. [Even if they did she probably wouldn't have had the time to go to one, anyway.]
*familiar... guh
Physics, biology, chemistry, the like. Nothing I'm covering in class or handing in myself are material that some other genius didn't already write libraries about in the past.
[ I shrug. My grades weren't bad, but I doubt there's much to be gained by some evil organization from kidnapping even honor students. Doesn't seem like they went out of their way to grab a ton of us either, I kept running into people who look younger than me. What IS up with that? ]
Huh, you must be from somewhere pretty remote. Sorry your first trip to one is in a creepy and shady place like... uh, Dreamland. They're supposed to be a lot more pleasant and fun, I promise.
I sort of assumed that was what you meant, haha!
[Monster-filled ruins, which are just as fun as Dreamland, but hey, who's keeping tabs...!]
You know, it's a little strange. It seems like they've brought a lot of different people here. [She tilts her head to one side.] At first I thought we all had to have something in common for them to want all of us, but that's looking less and less likely. I wonder what they took us for, then?
uwoo thanks
[ I joke weakly, but manage a grin anyway. I'm just... pretty tired. Emotionally. ]
It could be worse. This could be a secret government test site for human experimentation, but the whole abandoned amusement park says it probably isn't. Think we'll find out soon? Kinda like how there's no point poisoning us since they went through all the trouble of getting us here. No point just letting us walk around and do whatever without telling us anything else.
