![]() [You wake up in a temporary barracks set up behind an amusement park. The weather is chilly but pleasant, and there aren't any lines for the rides - in fact, it seems you have this place to yourself. The entire park appears to have been abandoned some years ago, and though everything is in working order, it is overgrown with plants and seems rusted and unsafe. As for you, something has happened, though you aren't sure what. There's a throbbing pain in your head, and you can't focus, as though you're coming off heavy pain medications. However you think you should look, you look like a human now. Under the bandages wrapped around your temple, old and smelling like blood, you'll find a recently stitched up scar wound and the inability to focus on your memories. You have no knowledge of how you came to be here; you may even have forgotten certain aspects of your life, or feel confused about them. The fact of your missing memories is obvious, a dark blank spot. Under the bandages around your wrist, you'll find a brightly colored bracelet, decorated with the face of the smiling cartoon animal on your wall, embedded into your flesh. It beeps a merry tune and welcomes you to DreamLand Fun Park. Just then, a voice comes over the loudspeaker.] "Good morning to all of our new guests! The park is now open! We'll get started later, but for now, have a magical day with your new friends! Oh, and there may be a few nasty side effects to your medical condition. If you meet someone having trouble adjusting to reality, please be polite!" [In your room, you'll find a small box containing several personal items - no weapons, magical items, or technology advanced beyond the early 21st century, and nothing dangerous, but otherwise anything you would ordinarily find on your person is there. Of course, nothing with cell reception or internet connectivity can manage to pick up a signal. If you swipe your bracelet against the steel door, it unlocks. You may now explore your accommodations, or venture out into the park.] character statuses setting This is an IC mingle covering the first day! Night roles will go up Monday at 4 PM EST, but you are welcome to continue to thread here once that happens. Make sure to follow any updates on plurk! |
Malik Ishtar | Various
[Malik is in a panic, waking up without Rishid nearby, in a strange room with his head throbbing. A million scenarios run through his head, but none of them fit. He's not sure how anyone could have captured him, or how they would have known.
He can't calm himself down, breathing short and shallow breathes as his hands shake terror. It's some time before he can grit his teeth and exit the room. When he does, the bandages around his head are starting to come loose as he keeps touching them, halfway between wanting to tear them off and knowing he should keep them on. His wrist is also bleeding from where it seems he tried to claw the bracelet out, with no success.
Malik's just looking for another person, and who whoever he comes across is going to be stopped swiftly in their tracks.]
Hey! [Now that he sees another human being, that fear is turning into fury.] Who are you?!
B; Petting Zoo
[After finding everyone else seems to be just as confused as he is, Malik's found the petting zoo. He's staring vacantly at the animals there, not really watching them at all. He's merely focusing on them as he thinks.]

I'm— [ She bangs her wrist cymbals together. ] Clash! Who are you?
no subject
Do you have to do that?! Now answer me, what do you have to do with this place? [He's not bothering to answer her question at all.]

[ She rolls her eyes, turns around, and pushes her hair up to show the hideous scar, then turns back to him and moves one of her wrist cymbals out of the way to show the embedded bracelet. ]
Or this? Maybe because I'm not the person you're looking for.
no subject
[It's still not clear whether he fully believes her or not as folds his arms to watch her with a scrutinizing gaze.]
Do you remember who brought you here?

no subject
Well, we're all in the same boat, aren't we? We should work together to find whoever did this.

Great, you don't know anything... Then I'm going to go find someone who does.

Anyway, Sheba doesn't take too kindly to being yelled at, which is why her eyes are narrowed somewhat when she turns to look at him when he calls out to her. But she can understand fear and anger in this kind of situation, and so she only lets a little of her irritation bleed through as she holds up her hand so he can see the bracelet embedded into her wrist.]
Someone who was brought here against my will, just like you!

Malik narrows his eyes as she holds up her hand, his eyes looking for the bracelet. As soon as he sees it, he understands and closes his hand around the bracelet embedded in his own wrist.
He still sounds angry, but only his frustration seems to be aimed at her now.] Do you remember how you got here?
no subject
[Except not really, since she can no longer call down a thunderstorm to ruin her enemies' day. What a shame.
She lets out a small, huffy-sounding sigh and crosses her arms.]
...since it looks like we're stuck here together, we might as well introduce ourselves. My name is Sheba.
no subject
Malik Ishtar, but don't misunderstand. I don't have any plans to stick around any longer than to find out who did this to me...
[He curls his lip, from anger and from the pain in his head as he grazes his hand over the bandages.] ...and have them pay.
no subject
[She has a lot of feelings about kidnappers. They're all pretty negative.]
My guess is we're all pretty motivated to pay back whoever did this to us. If I find out anything about them, I'll let you know. [Because Malik seems like he'd make them suffer and... she would really like to see them suffer... Her moral compass is a little out of whack when it comes to being kidnapped. God.]
no subject
But I want to be the one to make them regret what they've done first, do you understand?
no subject
[Malik can go first, that's fine by her. She'll go last so that the memory of what she'll do to them will be fresh in their minds.]
Just make sure there's still something left for me to work with by the time you're done.

a
N-n-nobody! I'm not anybody!
no subject
You don't know anything?
no subject
Nothing! Not a thing!
no subject
[He's approaching...]
no subject
I didn't do anything! I just woke up!
no subject
Fine. You're too cowardly to be behind this anyway.
