![]() [You wake up in a temporary barracks set up behind an amusement park. The weather is chilly but pleasant, and there aren't any lines for the rides - in fact, it seems you have this place to yourself. The entire park appears to have been abandoned some years ago, and though everything is in working order, it is overgrown with plants and seems rusted and unsafe. As for you, something has happened, though you aren't sure what. There's a throbbing pain in your head, and you can't focus, as though you're coming off heavy pain medications. However you think you should look, you look like a human now. Under the bandages wrapped around your temple, old and smelling like blood, you'll find a recently stitched up scar wound and the inability to focus on your memories. You have no knowledge of how you came to be here; you may even have forgotten certain aspects of your life, or feel confused about them. The fact of your missing memories is obvious, a dark blank spot. Under the bandages around your wrist, you'll find a brightly colored bracelet, decorated with the face of the smiling cartoon animal on your wall, embedded into your flesh. It beeps a merry tune and welcomes you to DreamLand Fun Park. Just then, a voice comes over the loudspeaker.] "Good morning to all of our new guests! The park is now open! We'll get started later, but for now, have a magical day with your new friends! Oh, and there may be a few nasty side effects to your medical condition. If you meet someone having trouble adjusting to reality, please be polite!" [In your room, you'll find a small box containing several personal items - no weapons, magical items, or technology advanced beyond the early 21st century, and nothing dangerous, but otherwise anything you would ordinarily find on your person is there. Of course, nothing with cell reception or internet connectivity can manage to pick up a signal. If you swipe your bracelet against the steel door, it unlocks. You may now explore your accommodations, or venture out into the park.] character statuses setting This is an IC mingle covering the first day! Night roles will go up Monday at 4 PM EST, but you are welcome to continue to thread here once that happens. Make sure to follow any updates on plurk! |

[Still trying the phone in odd angles, but nada.]
It's the work of a signal jammer. But they've covered an exhaustive amount of space. It's worth looking for any gaps even if it's unlikely.

There's a sign back there that says it's closed... they probably wouldn't expect anyone to be able to get to the top. How good are you at climbing? The signal might not be jammed all the way up there.
[She has no idea how signal jammers work but she also does not like sounding like she doesn't know things... so she's just going to hope she doesn't sound too dumb.]

Oh! I hadn't considered it, that's an excellent idea! Unfortunately, I'm not certain I'd be able to make the climb...it's never been my strong suit.

[If there is one thing Sheba gets a kick out of, it's being better at things than people... especially when the people she's better at things at are older than her. So she grins.]
Not to brag, but I'm pretty good at climbing things! [No she is totally bragging...] If you don't mind me trying to take that up there, I can probably get to the top.
[Are you really going to let a small fifteen year old girl climb the ferris wheel, Kyouya. Really.
...well, if she breaks the cell phone, he can always press her into service for the host club...! Even if her debt wouldn't be as substantial as Haruhi's.]
no subject
Hm...it may be dangerous. If the structure doesn't seem stable, or if anything else doesn't seem right, you should come back down immediately. Oh, and try not to drop my phone, please.
no subject
It's not that high up! [Yes it is.] I've survived falls from greater heights, anyway. It'll be fine.
...don't worry, I won't drop it!
no subject
If you're sure it's all right!
[But handing over his phone he is not protesting too strongly.]

[Climbing a ferris wheel is probably easier than climbing up the side of a cliff in a group of eight anyway... Sheba will just head on over to said ferris wheel, once she's taken his phone. She completely ignores the "Closed" sign and pulls herself up to where people are loaded into the ride.
Is there a maintenance ladder or is she going to have to act like a monkey clamber about on the outside of the ferris wheel's cars and poles and so on? She'll do it, either way.]

But she does at least call down to Kyouya.]
Hey! My bracelet started making a weird noise! Should I keep going?
[Please don't let her get herself blown up on day zero, Kyouya...]
no subject
No. Come back down. Carefully, but as quickly as you can.
