![]() [You wake up in a temporary barracks set up behind an amusement park. The weather is chilly but pleasant, and there aren't any lines for the rides - in fact, it seems you have this place to yourself. The entire park appears to have been abandoned some years ago, and though everything is in working order, it is overgrown with plants and seems rusted and unsafe. As for you, something has happened, though you aren't sure what. There's a throbbing pain in your head, and you can't focus, as though you're coming off heavy pain medications. However you think you should look, you look like a human now. Under the bandages wrapped around your temple, old and smelling like blood, you'll find a recently stitched up scar wound and the inability to focus on your memories. You have no knowledge of how you came to be here; you may even have forgotten certain aspects of your life, or feel confused about them. The fact of your missing memories is obvious, a dark blank spot. Under the bandages around your wrist, you'll find a brightly colored bracelet, decorated with the face of the smiling cartoon animal on your wall, embedded into your flesh. It beeps a merry tune and welcomes you to DreamLand Fun Park. Just then, a voice comes over the loudspeaker.] "Good morning to all of our new guests! The park is now open! We'll get started later, but for now, have a magical day with your new friends! Oh, and there may be a few nasty side effects to your medical condition. If you meet someone having trouble adjusting to reality, please be polite!" [In your room, you'll find a small box containing several personal items - no weapons, magical items, or technology advanced beyond the early 21st century, and nothing dangerous, but otherwise anything you would ordinarily find on your person is there. Of course, nothing with cell reception or internet connectivity can manage to pick up a signal. If you swipe your bracelet against the steel door, it unlocks. You may now explore your accommodations, or venture out into the park.] character statuses setting This is an IC mingle covering the first day! Night roles will go up Monday at 4 PM EST, but you are welcome to continue to thread here once that happens. Make sure to follow any updates on plurk! |
Yuya Sakaki | various
[The wakeup, amnesia and strange announcement had Yuya pretty spooked, but after pulling his goggles on over his eyes and running out of that creepy barracks, he's found his way to the train station. The cheery amusement park setting is a bit more his element, but it's in ruins, so not by much. This is still so confusing. His hand closes around the pendulum hanging from his neck, and he lifts it up to watch it swing. Swing, pendulum - more, wider! Maybe he's asking it what to do or where to go. Whatever it is, it doesn't seem like it's coming to him just yet.]
petting zoo
[Yuya's just discovered the animals! And now he's fretting over them slightly as the goat casually tries to eat his school uniform.]
Man, if mom was here she'd wanna take all of you home... h-hey stop!
[suddenly yelling because the goat managed to shake out some of his cards to eat those. He'll duck down to scoop them up - at least his reflexes are fast.]
I'll bring you a snack later, just spare my deck!!
circus tent
[Now this is more like it! Yuya squints a bit at the caution tape, but this place is so dilapidated and there's no one around, maybe it doesn't mean anything anymore. He'll tentatively attempt to cross it, until his bracelet starts beeping furiously. Gasping, his other hand flies toward it, digging slightly at the spot where it's embedded into his flesh. Of course that doesn't accomplish anything but mild discomfort, so he reluctantly backs off and gives up.]
Aww man... why? What the heck is this thing?

Money! Come back!

[Yuya's still crouching when it goes by, having paused to put the cards back in his pocket. But once he sees the guy he springs up after the sheep, catching up to it quickly and attempting to turn it around, waving his arms a bit.]
C'mon sheep, go that way!
[...he probably could have just grabbed the monkey, but he's not sure if he's allowed. ... and besides, what if it bit him?]
no subject
Thank you so much! I'd have lost my job if I lost this little guy.
no subject
[Seems a bit detached! But he's looking at the two of them with curiosity. Not every day you see a monkey in person, after all.]
no subject
[The monkey seems to be steering him by the hair.]

... Oh! Hahah, that's a good one. [Yuya is a fan of puns, but this one was lost on him at first since he's Japanese.]
So, you said Ringmaster just now! You must work for the circus, that's awesome.
[he bets they know all kinds of tricks!]
no subject
Yeah, that's right. I'm a trainee animal trainer.
[Well, one of them seems to know some tricks...]

[ Comforting commentary right ]

No way...
I always have a blast when I go to the circus, but that is just too much!
