42 players remaining.

[You wake up in a temporary barracks set up behind an amusement park. The weather is chilly but pleasant, and there aren't any lines for the rides - in fact, it seems you have this place to yourself. The entire park appears to have been abandoned some years ago, and though everything is in working order, it is overgrown with plants and seems rusted and unsafe.

As for you, something has happened, though you aren't sure what. There's a throbbing pain in your head, and you can't focus, as though you're coming off heavy pain medications. However you think you should look, you look like a human now. Under the bandages wrapped around your temple, old and smelling like blood, you'll find a recently stitched up scar wound and the inability to focus on your memories. You have no knowledge of how you came to be here; you may even have forgotten certain aspects of your life, or feel confused about them. The fact of your missing memories is obvious, a dark blank spot. Under the bandages around your wrist, you'll find a brightly colored bracelet, decorated with the face of the smiling cartoon animal on your wall, embedded into your flesh. It beeps a merry tune and welcomes you to DreamLand Fun Park. Just then, a voice comes over the loudspeaker.]

"Good morning to all of our new guests! The park is now open! We'll get started later, but for now, have a magical day with your new friends! Oh, and there may be a few nasty side effects to your medical condition. If you meet someone having trouble adjusting to reality, please be polite!"

[In your room, you'll find a small box containing several personal items - no weapons, magical items, or technology advanced beyond the early 21st century, and nothing dangerous, but otherwise anything you would ordinarily find on your person is there. Of course, nothing with cell reception or internet connectivity can manage to pick up a signal.

If you swipe your bracelet against the steel door, it unlocks. You may now explore your accommodations, or venture out into the park.]

[ He seems intensely relieved when he hears concern, setting down a few of his supplies to turn to her. ]

Yes. Can you help me?
unbridledjoy: (why u lyin on the cold hard ground)

[personal profile] unbridledjoy 2014-09-21 04:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I can try to. I am still learning about human physiology...

[Tamaraneans don't kidnap earthlings to experiment on, unfortunately (?) for him. But she seems willing enough to help!!

She holds up her arm and indicates the bracelet set into her wrist.]

Is it this thing that is hurting you, or is it something else?
billows: (for ten nights)

[ Maybe she's a vet?? He's hoping she's a staff member until she holds up the bracelet, which he's taken to indicate otherwise. ]

I don't think it's helping. And my head is fuzzy, something's happened to me. But it's happened to you, too, hasn't it?
unbridledjoy: (aliens can angst too!)

[personal profile] unbridledjoy 2014-09-21 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. I do not remember how it happened, but...

[Something obviously did.] Some people say that for a fuzzy head you must "pop the pill," but I have never understood how popping something would make your head stop hurting.

I've never heard anyone say that. [ A little disgruntled because she doesn't seem as helpful as she once did. ] It seems like we're coming off of pills, anyway. Surgery and all.
unbridledjoy: (fret fret fret)

[personal profile] unbridledjoy 2014-09-21 08:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe it was just something that my friends said...

[She looks a little troubled by the thought of surgery, though.] ...I do not think I like the idea of someone having done such a thing to us. [And yet it did. She brings her hand up to where she knows the scar on her head is and frowns.]

Maybe we should find water to drink. If they drugged us, then we need to get those drugs out.

Oh. [ Like he hasn't even considered the idea of water. ] That's a good idea. Are you a student?
unbridledjoy: (don't suspect me i'm totally innocent)

[personal profile] unbridledjoy 2014-09-21 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
No. I am a Teen Titan.

[That is not going to make any sense to him, Starfire...]
billows: (which men call)

[personal profile] billows 2014-09-21 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
[ His next thought is 'high schooler' but if she says she's not a student... ] That's a profession?
unbridledjoy: (bright smile)

[personal profile] unbridledjoy 2014-09-21 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes! We keep the city safe. Like a ... [What's the word...] "Cop"? But younger.

[personal profile] billows 2014-09-22 02:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh. Like a junior detective. [ By which he means, he assumes it's some game. ] How nice to have you on the case. Now, where's all the water?
unbridledjoy: (smiling)

[personal profile] unbridledjoy 2014-09-22 05:14 pm (UTC)(link)
[No, the detectives are their juniors... but she'll let it go.]

I believe I saw a cafeteria not too far from here. There might be water there! Come, let us go see! [She'll lead the way to the mess hall! The hunt for water begins in earnest!]

[personal profile] billows 2014-09-22 11:52 pm (UTC)(link)
[ He just hurriedly stuffs his supplies into his pockets and follows along. The cafeteria doesn't seem to have much of anything, so the kitchen is the next best place. ] Goodness, how are we meant to eat anything here? Oh, hold on.

[ It isn't hard to spot the crates of water, but the warning is a little... ]
