![]() [You wake up in a temporary barracks set up behind an amusement park. The weather is chilly but pleasant, and there aren't any lines for the rides - in fact, it seems you have this place to yourself. The entire park appears to have been abandoned some years ago, and though everything is in working order, it is overgrown with plants and seems rusted and unsafe. As for you, something has happened, though you aren't sure what. There's a throbbing pain in your head, and you can't focus, as though you're coming off heavy pain medications. However you think you should look, you look like a human now. Under the bandages wrapped around your temple, old and smelling like blood, you'll find a recently stitched up scar wound and the inability to focus on your memories. You have no knowledge of how you came to be here; you may even have forgotten certain aspects of your life, or feel confused about them. The fact of your missing memories is obvious, a dark blank spot. Under the bandages around your wrist, you'll find a brightly colored bracelet, decorated with the face of the smiling cartoon animal on your wall, embedded into your flesh. It beeps a merry tune and welcomes you to DreamLand Fun Park. Just then, a voice comes over the loudspeaker.] "Good morning to all of our new guests! The park is now open! We'll get started later, but for now, have a magical day with your new friends! Oh, and there may be a few nasty side effects to your medical condition. If you meet someone having trouble adjusting to reality, please be polite!" [In your room, you'll find a small box containing several personal items - no weapons, magical items, or technology advanced beyond the early 21st century, and nothing dangerous, but otherwise anything you would ordinarily find on your person is there. Of course, nothing with cell reception or internet connectivity can manage to pick up a signal. If you swipe your bracelet against the steel door, it unlocks. You may now explore your accommodations, or venture out into the park.] character statuses setting This is an IC mingle covering the first day! Night roles will go up Monday at 4 PM EST, but you are welcome to continue to thread here once that happens. Make sure to follow any updates on plurk! |
Patchouli Knowledge | various
[ When Patchouli wakes up, it's slow and with a crawl. She's much too used to feeling ill, to have her body be sluggish and dull, but this is new.
For one, she never had any memory problems. Her memory was flawless, perfect. What had been done to her? She raises a hand to the stitches on her head, groaning. Okay, so, someone had kidnapped her, stuck a tacky bracelet on her, dug around in her skull, and stitched her back up, for what purpose...?
...this was gonna be a long day. So you can find Patchouli numbly stumbling around the barracks, looking through the crowd and trying to spot someone in particular. Failing that, she roots around in the mess hall and first aid room. ]
( general western area+log fume ride )
[ Oh, look who's used to staying indoors all the time. And when she's not indoors, she's flying, not walking. Poor, sweet Patchouli is already out of breath after attempting to investigate for a mere hour. She would like to simply sit in the barracks and order someone to investigate for her, but hey, can she really trust any of them? It's not a very friend-making environment.
She pauses near the log fume, propping herself up on the side of it and panting heavily. ]
Damn...more walking...godforsaken beeping...
barracks
Miss, is everything okay? You seem to be walking rather slowly, perhaps you should sit down.

I seem to have been drugged for a long period of time, so not precisely. [ ... ] As much as I would like to, sitting around won't help me figure out what's going on.
[ and she figures he really doesn't have a clue either, because someone concerned about her wobbly walking sure wouldn't have been one of the ones to cut open her head in the first place ]

log fume ride;
Hope you don't mind an awfully persistent young princess practically shoving an ice-cold bottle of water in your face, because that's what you're getting here!]
Are you okay? Do you need to go sit in the shade for a little while..?
no subject
...need to invest...in an inhaler...
[ Once her breahing evens out, she looks up a bit sheepishly. ]
...thank you. [ /hack-cough ] Perhaps that would be for the best, adamant as I am to keep searching.
no subject
[Anna will pat her on the back as she coughs and hacks, hoping that'll get everything out of her system...]
Come on. You're not going to be able to get much searching done if you're dehydrated. Your health comes first, after all!
[As a Princess, Anna definitely knows that the well-being of all of her subjects needs to be prioritized, and though this girl might not be technically a subject of hers, she was still someone who needed her help!]
We can sit under the entrance to that, um, big green mouth thing, until you start to feel a little better.
[She's referring to the inside of the gaping maw that serves as the entryway to the track coaster...]
no subject
She really can't object to a bit of help in a situation like this. It sounds like the kind of things Sakuya would say, anyway. 'Lady Patchouli, your health comes first!' ]
...you don't need to sit with me. [ but she will indeed start to shuffle off to the entryway ]

...This isn't Kamila or anyone he knows, but everyone likes a big friendly WELCOME, right? He barks at her in an upbeat fashion, ears up and tail wagging. ]

clarification, actually she looks about 20, Touhou's ambiguous with its ages herpPatchouli looks at Missile with a bit of exasperation. ]
Yes? [ ... ] Are you a shikigami? Where's your master?
no subject
Oh, Touhous. My bad!Missile doesn't know what any of that means, although he does pick up on the tone. That's better than a lot of tones someone could have when smelling like blood! OPTIMISM....He looks at her and wags in a slightly more tentative fashion. ]

log flume
That is, Oz has been wandering around pretty much everywhere, since he's packed full of a ridiculous amount of energy despite being a noble and thus doesn't suffer from the Easily Tired Curse. But as soon as he spots this struggling nerd leaning against the flume, he's rushing right over.]
You should be careful, miss! The water out here is dangerous!
[What if she falls in and becomes an algae zombie.]
struggling nerd, excuse u
[ even when finding it difficult to breathe, she must be sarcastic. ]
is it a lie tho
I mean, the water here looks even worse than the water at the lake... [It's probably like MEGA-DANGER.]
—But you should be careful anyway! Still water can have air pocket bursts if there's enough sediment on the bottom, or something like that.
sadly no
Perhaps, but I don't intend...to spend all of my time here...

...Reporting for duty, sir!
[ What? Oh, a salute. Ibuki, why... ]
Can the Ibuki piggyback express get you somewhere in particular?!
no subject
...I don't need a piggyback ride.
[ no, she probably does, but rather she doesn't want one. ]

[ there's a kneejerk reaction to send out a wave of fireballs, but she's reminded that, oh yeah, she's completely without her magic here. Once the recognization sets in, she scowls and relaxes her posture. ]
...Aya. [ scoffing ] As unperturbed as always, aren't we?
no subject
I just have a better time of it than you due to... well. [ PATCHY BEING A HIKKI but okay, she has enough tact not to say that aloud. for now. ]
no subject
[ ...which, considering her lack of physical strength, is as wonderful for her as you'd think. briefly, she lifts up her bangs, showing the stitches. ]
Yes, yes, I get the point. [ a heavy sigh ] What do you make of this place, anyway? Have you seen anyone else from Gensokyo?
