day four - afternoon
![]() [As the day wears on into the afternoon, the dead aren't getting any deader. It's late in the afternoon, and the air is beginning to cool, when the chimes play again over the park loudspeaker. "All of us here at Dreamland wish you luck, guests! Let's meet up in the Hall of Mirrors!" Wherever you are, it's time to make your way over to the House of Horrors, where you'll have to brave the funhouse to find the room on the top floor. Don't delay, or your guest identification bracelet will begin beeping. The House of Mirrors is a large room, more than capable of fitting a crowd. Tall mirrors line every wall, and the door you entered through seems to vanish into a mirror as well. The mirrors give the impression that many, many more are among your number, standing in the background. In the back is a jar filled with blank raffle tickets. You'll have to take a ticket, write down a name, and place it back in the jar. Hopefully you already know who you're voting for, but if not, you only have time for a brief discussion before you're out of time. character statuses private conversations graveyard Voting will close at 11 PM EST on October 3. |

"Killing two people is worse than one" is no defense. I am sorry Nui, but if you have proof that Francis isn't a VIP then you should say something more concrete. The fact is VIPs may still be paired up with regular guests.

Best case scenario, two VIPs are paired... but I think the VIP and regular guest combo is more likely.

[Truth be told he'd vote for Nui now...but well she's paired with Francis so it doesn't really matter.]

To sacrifice one is justified. To sacrifice two I cannot allow.

But if you refuse to make an accusation, I will not stand down from being the one to face those consequences.

Right now, Nui is talking about sacrificing Stafire because she volunteered. I would say that's evidence against her, but you all seem pretty content with the idea of killing someone who doesn't deserve it right now.

[He sounds honestly disgusted.]
I gain nothing from sacrificing her life. I do not. But I refuse to stew in cowardice. Listen to me. To throw away your life is a sin against nature itself. To sit and allow our timid feelings to bring about our defeat is a crime. I will oppose that crime until the day I die.
All I require is an unbound life. But I will not volunteer a single person who does not speak up for himself. I will only do what I can in battle.

I don't. Nothing concrete.

If they're both VIPs, then - then that's great. But if one of them is innocent and we kill them anyway just because they were unlucky enough to be partnered with a VIP...that makes us no better than them.

[She wraps her arms around her body, paralyzed.] We're going to kill someone no matter what we do.

...There is no "right" answer here, so not knowing isn't a bad thing. I... That's why I would still vote for no one.
no subject
[She takes a deep breath.] But killing someone we know is innocent isn't the answer either. I'm voting for Kurapika.

[He's quiet for a second, since he actually thinks that voting for someone at relative random is arguably worse than not voting at all, but he won't say so aloud.]
Can I ask why?
no subject
[A pause.] Gut instinct. That, and like I said, the people trying to convince everyone not to vote are the most suspicious in my eyes.
