day four - afternoon

dreamland day four 31 players remaining. [As the day wears on into the afternoon, the dead aren't getting any deader. It's late in the afternoon, and the air is beginning to cool, when the chimes play again over the park loudspeaker. "All of us here at Dreamland wish you luck, guests! Let's meet up in the Hall of Mirrors!" Wherever you are, it's time to make your way over to the House of Horrors, where you'll have to brave the funhouse to find the room on the top floor. Don't delay, or your guest identification bracelet will begin beeping. The House of Mirrors is a large room, more than capable of fitting a crowd. Tall mirrors line every wall, and the door you entered through seems to vanish into a mirror as well. The mirrors give the impression that many, many more are among your number, standing in the background. In the back is a jar filled with blank raffle tickets. You'll have to take a ticket, write down a name, and place it back in the jar. If they don't vote, then that makes them look suspicious. The VIPs would want to push for a no vote, right? That's better for them than even if we execute someone innocent.

It seems that after this night, however, many people would look suspicious, indeed...

It is not as if we have a clear person to vote for, no?

But the VIPs aren't going to vote for anyone in their group, right? So maybe if we look at the votes afterwards, something will stand out....

[She huffs and stamps her foot.] Ugh, I don't know! Why can't we just vote for Lee again?

[jingler]

Yes. For them to regain one of their loss numbers the day after losing one -- we'd only be stepping backwards, not forwards.

[foetida]

I hadn't thought of it that way. [She looks worried.] You're right, aren't you? As long as they can convert, everything we're doing - everything - is going to mean nothing in the end.
