dreamland day four

31 players remaining.

[As the day wears on into the afternoon, the dead aren't getting any deader. It's late in the afternoon, and the air is beginning to cool, when the chimes play again over the park loudspeaker.
"All of us here at Dreamland wish you luck, guests! Let's meet up in the Hall of Mirrors!"

Wherever you are, it's time to make your way over to the House of Horrors, where you'll have to brave the funhouse to find the room on the top floor. Don't delay, or your guest identification bracelet will begin beeping. The House of Mirrors is a large room, more than capable of fitting a crowd. Tall mirrors line every wall, and the door you entered through seems to vanish into a mirror as well. The mirrors give the impression that many, many more are among your number, standing in the background.

In the back is a jar filled with blank raffle tickets. You'll have to take a ticket, write down a name, and place it back in the jar. Hopefully you already know who you're voting for, but if not, you only have time for a brief discussion before you're out of time.

"Buddies" share a vote. That would expose every single pair of buddies.

Not necessarily. It would just count for whoever voted first. It'll still wind up even, wouldn't it?

Does anyone know for certain that the second buddy's vote does not simply match the first's? It is too much of a risk to expose a pair.

Rule number ten, word for word:

"Buddies vote as a team, with only one vote between the two of them. If two buddies cast different votes, only the first one will count."

Say Kyle and Stan are buddies. [ completely random names of course ] They both vote for themselves, but Kyle votes first. Kyle's vote is the only one counted, but it doesn't mean that Stan's won't show. It just means that it won't mean anything. If everyone still self-votes, that shit still evens out. It won't expose anyone. .

That is, if we permit the rules to be read at face value.

I see your point...

And even if someone were to violate that, and we end up with a "majority" of two, the person who does not vote for him or herself would be revealed as a VIP.

But this also brings us no closer to the murderers. I dislike resorting to something such as this.

Yeah. One vote could sway it. But we'd nail a VIP or two like that.

It's just an idea. I hope someone has a better one. This sucks.

She is right. [A shake of the head.] We don't want to help these VIPs...or our mysterious bomber.

That wouldn't be good at all! Then the VIPs would know who to hit to hurt the most of us.
