dreamland day one

41 players remaining.

As the voting period comes to an end, a bell goes off from the ticket machine, and the metal bars blocking the tunnel at the end of the Hall of Mirrors lifts. A voice speaks over the loudspeaker:
"Attention, guests! Please make your way onto the ride! For your safety, keep your hands and arms inside and do not attempt to leave your seat!"

Through the tunnel, single cars on a track stop and wait for each remaining player to step on. Don't dawdle, or your bracelet will begin to beep a warning. Once in a car, the safety bar locks you tightly inside, unable to move.

The car trundles along a dark, twisting track, nearly veering into cartoonish obstacles, but veering away at the last moment. Music and cackling laughter echoes loudly through the ride as you drive faster and faster. Suddenly, your car seems about to veer off to the left, through a set of tall doors, before abruptly spinning off to the right.

With a powerful jerk, each car comes to the end of the ride. The safety bar lifts, and you can leave. It seems no one was executed tonight, but a list of votes has been pinned to the wall for your perusal.

You now have the rest of the evening to explore the park, before night comes again.

photonement: Hands behind back and blushing (Very Shy)

[Mahiru's teeth and arms are tense; she shuts her lips and hides her hands behind her back. No matter how hard she tries, she can't focus ; it's like she picked up her vintage twin lens reflex camera by accident, and now her face is full of dust, her head is heavier than she had gotten used to (bandages or not)... worst of all, she can't make her eyes focus. The image of Peko is unsteady beyond the double vision Mahriu's experiencing. Narrowing her eyes barely stabilizes the sight at all.]

We're never going back to that island. You won't allow it. [The memorized single use evidence bullet hovers in her inventory, and the debate round times out without her using it.]

There's so much to do... escape from here... make contact with our friends... evacuate them... we gotta be careful every step of the way. Think rationally, [the saddest adverb of all] that's right.

[She turns her head to the north.]

That reminds me--Have to get in dinner, too... I think there's some rice left over from earlier. What about you, Peko-chan?

[It's the kind of subtle excuse that Peko always makes in a much more mechanical manner, and Mahiru does want to understand why she's that way. Later.]
