day one - aftermath

dreamland day one

41 players remaining.

As the voting period comes to an end, a bell goes off from the ticket machine, and the metal bars blocking the tunnel at the end of the Hall of Mirrors lifts. A voice speaks over the loudspeaker:
"Attention, guests! Please make your way onto the ride! For your safety, keep your hands and arms inside and do not attempt to leave your seat!"

Through the tunnel, single cars on a track stop and wait for each remaining player to step on. Don't dawdle, or your bracelet will begin to beep a warning. Once in a car, the safety bar locks you tightly inside, unable to move.

The car trundles along a dark, twisting track, nearly veering into cartoonish obstacles, but veering away at the last moment. Music and cackling laughter echoes loudly through the ride as you drive faster and faster. Suddenly, your car seems about to veer off to the left, through a set of tall doors, before abruptly spinning off to the right.

With a powerful jerk, each car comes to the end of the ride. The safety bar lifts, and you can leave. It seems no one was executed tonight, but a list of votes has been pinned to the wall for your perusal.

You now have the rest of the evening to explore the park, before night comes again.

The 'Misfits'? My, that certainly is an interesting name... What kind of music do you play?

The best kind of music! We're number one and everything!

[ She sounds more like someone who admires the band rather than plays in it. ]

We mostly play rock, sometimes jazz too, but we're super hardcore no matter what.
royalizing: (oh my)

[personal profile] royalizing 2014-09-26 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
[ Rock... ]

You don't mean to say you play your music using... rocks as instruments? [ Because that sounds absurd even to her but she's seen and heard about some pretty weird things today so who knows? ]

[ Is she another person from a weird European country without television...? ]

Huh? No, we play guitars, keyboard, and drums and... [ She shows her wrist cymbals. ] ...cymbals like this.
royalizing: (:O)

"Keyboard"? [ Thaaat's a yes. She looks confused but also pretty interested. ]

Is that similar to an organ?

[personal profile] fanbase 2014-09-27 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Sort of yeah, but it's a lot smaller and more electronic. It's so you can play it like... anywhere, basically.

How fascinating! Do they have these keyboards here? I would love to hear you play.
fanbase: (ANXIETY ONLINE !)

They don't have any instruments here. All I've got are my cymbals, but if we ever find something then I guess I can play a song or two. It might not be what you're used to though.
royalizing: (isn't that so?)

[personal profile] royalizing 2014-10-02 05:29 am (UTC)(link)
[ She'll just wave that last part off slightly impatiently. ]

What good is being able to meet people from different worlds if I don't get to see and hear new things? I look forward to it, Clash.

In return, if I see an instrument from home, I'll play something for you as well. [ Her music skills are probably better than certain other characters I play her cooking skills at least. ]

You probably don't know much about movies and stuff I bet too. I promised Oz I'd show him some of the music videos I filmed, it definitely doesn't hurt to have a bigger audience for them.

What do you normally play? A harp? [ It doesn't sound facetious, but more like she's asking out of genuine curiosity. ]
royalizing: (but of course)

[personal profile] royalizing 2014-10-02 06:05 am (UTC)(link)
I can. I was already training in archery when I started learning, so my fingers were already callused. [ She sounds proud of this fact, rather than disappointed. ]

Oh, I would love to see your music videos too. Are they here?

[ She looks impressed knowing that Natalia's learned archery and how to play the harp, because that sounds badass to her. ]

Nah, if they were we'd be watching them already. They probably figured that giving me my video camera would be a huge disadvantage.
royalizing: (huh?)

[personal profile] royalizing 2014-10-03 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
That's a shame... Although- that news reporter, Aya, she has a 'camera' with her, doesn't she?

[ Natalia does not approve of the way she pops out of nowhere to take pictures!! (Though she thinks it's neat the way the camera can take instant pictures... )]

Hers is a little bit different. You have to wait for the right moment with those, but with a video camera you can basically catch anything if you know how to use it right. As long as you've got enough tape, you can probably roll for a couple of hours!
royalizing: (-_-)

[personal profile] royalizing 2014-10-03 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
Ohhh, if we had that, we could catch the killers red-handed! They truly did think of everything to make it more difficult for us.

Yeah, it figures they'd do something like that. I've filmed in much harsher environments, so I'm sure they knew I could handle it here. They were apparently nice enough to give me my cymbals at least.
