dreamland day one 41 players remaining. As the voting period comes to an end, a bell goes off from the ticket machine, and the metal bars blocking the tunnel at the end of the Hall of Mirrors lifts. A voice speaks over the loudspeaker: "Attention, guests! Please make your way onto the ride! For your safety, keep your hands and arms inside and do not attempt to leave your seat!" Through the tunnel, single cars on a track stop and wait for each remaining player to step on. Don't dawdle, or your bracelet will begin to beep a warning. Once in a car, the safety bar locks you tightly inside, unable to move. The car trundles along a dark, twisting track, nearly veering into cartoonish obstacles, but veering away at the last moment. Music and cackling laughter echoes loudly through the ride as you drive faster and faster. Suddenly, your car seems about to veer off to the left, through a set of tall doors, before abruptly spinning off to the right. With a powerful jerk, each car comes to the end of the ride. The safety bar lifts, and you can leave. It seems no one was executed tonight, but a list of votes has been pinned to the wall for your perusal. You now have the rest of the evening to explore the park, before night comes again. character statuses private conversations This is a general post-vote mingle encompassing the time from the end of the trial (about 5 PM until the fireworks at 11 PM). I'll say this once.

It was obvious during your discussion that no one was willing to trust the anonymous note. If I spoke up before the vote, there's no guarantee that any of you would have believed me. Now at least there's something to back my claim. I was the only person to vote for Legion because I was the only one who knew for sure that he was guilty.

[chainjailer]

...I see. [He still seems annoyed, although it's for a different reason now.]

But do you realize the size of the target you just put on your back? If the VIPs kill you tonight, you won't be able to help anyone!

[Kurapika clenches his fists.]

I know. There's a good chance you'll have to dig the rest of the graves without me.

[chainjailer]

I can guard you. [His words are firm.] Even without my Nen, I'm sure I can stand to fight anyone here.

[shortcutter]

I appreciate it, but I'd rather not get you involved.

I do have something I'd like you to do, though. Would you follow me for a second?

... [Kurapika look slightly apprehensive, but then nods his head.]

[shortcutter]

Just somewhere private.

[Seeing his apprehension, though.]

Wherever you want. [He snorts.] I can keep my hands behind my head. I'm not going to murder you.

[He has a dark sense of humor, sorry!!]

[He lets out an unamused huff.]

I'm not worried about that. The rules state they meet in groups and kill at night. It's afternoon.

[Levi does as he's told, keeping his hands up near his head. He briskly leads Kurapike to the tunnel under the castle, making sure they aren't being tailed.]

I'm glad I listened to all of you before the vote instead of saying anything. I learned that you're a group of decent people. None of you were willing to kill someone based on such little evidence, even if it meant prolonging the game and making yourselves vulnerable to be converted.

I can't control what you or anyone else thinks. If I haven't done enough to convince you, then vote next time as you did today.

I told you, there is no physical evidence to prove it. I have nothing else to say.

We couldn't accept the note because we had no way of knowing who or why they sent it! If you had simply spoken up and explained yourself, it could have changed things!

It doesn't matter who sent it. All of you still would have been forced to kill Legion simply on the word of one random person.

But...! [ She simmers down because he has a point, even if it frustrates her to know that they could've avoided all... well, most of the suspicion and uncertainty concerning the note. ]

Surely you must have some proof! How did you discover his identity?

The only proof I have is my word. I'm not going to reveal anything about how I get my information in case there's a VIP listening.

[He exhales, because he does understand why this would be frustrating.]

I'm sorry. For now you'll just have to trust me.
