day two - afternoon

dreamland day two 39 players remaining. [As the day wears on into the afternoon, the dead aren't getting any deader. It's late in the afternoon, and the air is beginning to cool, when the chimes play again over the park loudspeaker. "All of us here at Dreamland wish you luck, guests! Let's meet up in the Hall of Mirrors!" Wherever you are, it's time to make your way over to the House of Horrors, where you'll have to brave the funhouse to find the room on the top floor. Don't delay, or your guest identification bracelet will begin beeping. The House of Mirrors is a large room, more than capable of fitting a crowd. Tall mirrors line every wall, and the door you entered through seems to vanish into a mirror as well. The mirrors give the impression that many, many more are among your number, standing in the background. In the back is a jar filled with blank raffle tickets. You'll have to take a ticket, write down a name, and place it back in the jar. It was still Levi. Yes...I think I'm finally piecing it together.

Was he just framing Legion? Unless he already knew about the dog...

The one that said Legion was a VIP? He was probably lying! Juuuuuust like he was lying about being the detective.

[Kurapika curses under his breath.]

Liar Levi! That's who!

If we really think it's the dog...

Well, dogs can't lie, can they? People can. It makes sense, really! Missile's the real detective. Liar Levi pretended to be the detective, framed Legion, and Missile couldn't tell us until now because, well, he is a dog if a clever one. And! It explains why Levi was so vague and mysterious and a huge jerk about it.

I think he is! A much cuter detective than that jerk Levi!

...It would explain why nobody claimed detective against him, too. He didn't understand my request to the group!

Exactly! Missile can only woof, whine, and wag! At least he was able to tell us before we all voted for Legion on the word of a liar.

And the reason why he didn't leave another note...! He couldn't write one!

If it's a question of whether Levi or the dog is lying, it's hardly worth asking. Dogs don't understand the concept of lying.

It is a near certainty. Ahaha. What a brave and magnificent creature he is! It has been so long since a new beast has set fire to my veins...!

The dog was chosen as a player of the game. He shares the same risk as the rest of us. Why could he not also participate as a major player?

How about the fact that he can't talk? Look at how much effort it's taken to get this far at all! What good's a detective when we can't even be sure of what he's trying to say?

He is as good as those among us who are able to communicate with him. This is clearly a very intelligent dog.

Not clever enough to understand how to bark once for yes and twice for no! We can't even be sure that's what he's claiming!

More than several of us worked hard on translating what he said, and all came to the same conclusion! That sounds pretty sure to me!
