day one - aftermath
![]() As the voting period comes to an end, a bell goes off from the ticket machine, and the metal bars blocking the tunnel at the end of the Hall of Mirrors lifts. A voice speaks over the loudspeaker: "Attention, guests! Please make your way onto the ride! For your safety, keep your hands and arms inside and do not attempt to leave your seat!" Through the tunnel, single cars on a track stop and wait for each remaining player to step on. Don't dawdle, or your bracelet will begin to beep a warning. Once in a car, the safety bar locks you tightly inside, unable to move. The car trundles along a dark, twisting track, nearly veering into cartoonish obstacles, but veering away at the last moment. Music and cackling laughter echoes loudly through the ride as you drive faster and faster. Suddenly, your car seems about to veer off to the left, through a set of tall doors, before abruptly spinning off to the right. With a powerful jerk, each car comes to the end of the ride. The safety bar lifts, and you can leave. It seems no one was executed tonight, but a list of votes has been pinned to the wall for your perusal. You now have the rest of the evening to explore the park, before night comes again. character statuses private conversations This is a general post-vote mingle encompassing the time from the end of the trial (about 5 PM until the fireworks at 11 PM). You are encouraged and welcome to backtag discussions in this post until the next day post, or to have afternoon private conversations. |

[ oh we're heading towards panic mode. of course. ]
There isn't even a motive like that guy tried to do!!
no subject
[telling it like it is. despair synergy]

[While Kuzuryuu handles their more excitable classmate, Peko's going to step in to make sure it's not going to escalate further.]
For now, panicking only aids the VIPs and whomever is controlling them.
no subject
But... being passive helps them too... If Levi were right then what if we really did waste one whole day that way?
no subject
It is too late now to go back. The only thing we can do is move forward.
If nothing else, be thankful that another innocent person was not killed tonight.

[Peko reaches back as if she might draw her shinai to illustrate her point better, but is stopped by two things -- one, pointing a weapon at Koizumi is Not Allowed, and two, she doesn't. Have. Her shinai.]
If we are to solve this, we must remain calm, and think clearly. We have been through too much already to be stopped at this stage. The people on the island -- you want to return to them, do you not? Then all you can do is keep your eyes open and think clearly. Panic and fear will only aid the enemy.
[Does she realize the irony in talking to Koizumi about returning to the island? Yes. And is she turning a bit pale at skirting around things from the island? Yes again. But it has to be said.]
no subject
We're never going back to that island. You won't allow it. [The memorized single use evidence bullet hovers in her inventory, and the debate round times out without her using it.]
There's so much to do... escape from here... make contact with our friends... evacuate them... we gotta be careful every step of the way. Think rationally, [the saddest adverb of all] that's right.
[She turns her head to the north.]
That reminds me--Have to get in dinner, too... I think there's some rice left over from earlier. What about you, Peko-chan?
[It's the kind of subtle excuse that Peko always makes in a much more mechanical manner, and Mahiru does want to understand why she's that way. Later.]
no subject
[His voice is stern and level, but not reprimanding.]
There likely is a motive, it's just not aimed at all of us at once. Just the VIPs. The rules are different this time.
no subject
So...it's a secret motive?!
no subject
[Which is the Kuzuryuu way of saying he believes everybody here is a decent person, probably.]
no subject
[ Since the problem she had with it was that Legion was a decent geth and would never do anything like this...but what could they have on him? Ibuki is really not great at mindgames. ]
no subject
I don't know. Once again, the only thing we have to go on is somebody's word. There's no way of knowing if he's telling the truth or if this is some kind of ploy. But it's almost so incredibly stupid that I'm inclined to believe he's the genuine article.
[Yeah he still wants a redo on their detective. Assuming this is legit and not a ploy.]
Unfortunately, voting for Legion is the only way we can confirm Levi's claim. Unless the cops investigate Levi tonight and find some way of sharing their results with us in a way that leaves no room for doubt, but also doesn't out them.
